You forgot one:

7) Get killed by federal police acting to stop a small but violent band of neo-militia extremists.

(I seem to recall some history about one like this...what was it...)

You have a better chance at legalizing LSD than opening the doors to full-auto again. Any effort expended on that is a waste of time and money. It's just not going to happen. Dedicate your efforts to something useful.

If enough law-abiding non-nut citizens file identical suits across the country demanding the right to buy a new M4, the case MUST end up at SCOTUS due to inevitably differing rulings. Lay out the straightforward federal laws (Constitution included) and they can't wiggle out of it.

Waiting for criminal cases to resolve future bans IS a surefire long-term loser.

And waving guns in downtown DC will just get you killed.

I wouldn't change any of my plans. I'm going to pick up a sub-2000 and an NEF rifle this year and thats about it unless things work out in in my favor and I can swing a Dan Wesson 22 revolver too.

I'll be getting more parts and more ammo as well. You need both for the gun to run.

Guys, y'all are missing something here.

If you buy it today, you may get a letter next year telling you to turn it in, or they're gonna show up, shoot your dog, gas your wife and kid, and stomp your kitten to death, and take it anyway.

Take your gun money, or a bit of your range time, and devote it to fighting the legislation. Notes and calls to your congresscritters, notes to your newspaper and TV. Get to know your local media and local politicians. Drive to your state capital, and visit some of your state critters...

That's something to think long and hard about... A few years ago, it'd be cold dead hands time... Today? I'm not concerned about my semi-automatics... My bolt actions are FAR more accurate at distance.

The folks in Washington need to realize that their "public safety" gun bans might have some unintended consequences that could result in exactly the opposite.
