The longer this poll continues, it is interesting to see how spread out and diverse the opinions are. I voted Hi Power and I have great regard and respect for Glocks but I am a bit surprised that Glock rates so highly in the "favorite to shoot" category. Had it been a vote on most durable, or reliable, or practical, or best defense 9mm, or whatever, I would expect Glock to score very highly. But, in the category of "favorite to shoot", Glock's ranking surprises me a bit. This is NOT intended to be a slam on Glock. It's just a bit like picking olive drab as a favorite color. (And I'm sure it is for someone.)

STI GP6c
love shooting it, comfortable like BHP or CZ 75, SA trigger like a tuned 1911.
Honorable mention goes to HK P7 and BHP.

Favorite to shoot might be based on the fact that the voter has only a Glock, or other, and that is his or her "favorite to shoot"...........:)

Browning Hi Power! I've owned two of them and still have one. I've owned and fired a couple of Smiths, a Star and a couple 1911s and maybe some others I forgot about. I liked them all but for different reasons, of course.

very good point

I'm one of those guys who has only Glocks, but I did that on purpose.
Between the 19, 17 and 17L, the 17L is the most fun to shoot, just because it's the most accurate and powerful.
There really is a power difference. My standard handload uses the 124 gr. Rem. JHP with a good dose of Blue Dot. From the 19, measured velocity at 10' from the muzzle is avg. 1,300. From the 17, it's 1,350. From the 17L, it's 1,400.
That makes all 3 perfectly viable for defense from any critter that I'm likely to encounter in the Nevada desert.
When I was 5, I got a Honda mini trail 50. I remember thinking that the controls were a bit awkward for me. During that ride, I resolved that ergonomics are just silly. I have this thing, and I'm entirely capable of making it work. I've kept that resolve ever since. By now, what matters to me is accuracy and reliability, along with the strength to standardize on a high performance load. It's all about making sense.

Of the 9mm handguns that I've shot it would have to be the Sig P210. If you're talking about affordable 9mm handguns it would be the Browning Hipower.

Hi-Power, no question.

Second would probably be my Ruger SR9c.... in fact after I bought those two I said good bye to all my other 9mms (excepting my 9mm slide for a Sig P250 that never gets out of the box anymore).

I wish I had a Kahr K-9. I've shot one a few times. That has got to be the smoothest shooting compact I ever tried. :D

I own/have owned quite a few of the listed 9mms and find the Stoeger Cougar 8000 FT to be the most pleasant range shooter I have.

My other would be my Daewoo DP51.... just a very fun gun to shoot!

Honarable Mentions:

Sig 1911-22
Ruger SR -22
Taurus 1911
Beretta 81

....... I am now convinced I should stop here because this could keep going!

I like to shoot them all! :D

I have had a GREAT time shooting this baby, CZ SP-01 Phantom, my current carry pistol.

But nowadays, this one seems to always be in my hand at the range. ;)
Usually without the NEBO light...:p
