What is your THR favorite "room" ?

Probably this one, the "General Store.":D Feels like my old gun shop and range, where I used to go for coffee first, conversation with the same people time after time, and finally outside for some shootin. Miss that place. This is my first stop every time, then on to L&P, S&T, then to the handgun stores, General and Autoloader. Only every once in a while do I visit Rifle Country or Reloading.

Coffee's good here, so's the company.:D

You mean THR room where we read and reply to posts?

It would have to be my computer/gun room.

I am close to lots of guns, ammo and my computers

Also where I do most of my posting, though I will read the forum wherever/whenever the opportunity presents.

I start with General and work my way down, hitting the new posts, until I recognize a thread I've read......then off to the next, on down to handguns.

If I am following a thread I will make a detour, but I get the most pleasure from reading the posts from the more articulate and imaginative members...:D

The 870 room...in the 28 ga. corner.

John

P.S. - I spent $7 to get into the gun show Sunday and all I spent inside was $1 for 2 old 28 ga. shells. There was this nice 28 ga. O/U but it was child-sized and very expensive. It was European, but I don't remember the maker.

SInce my time here seems to be limited (read: nonexistant) these days...

When I log on I hit the "New Posts" button. It better have a brain ticklin' title to get me to click it.

Favortie forums is easily "Shotguns"

Dave, sm, Larry, Corria - I figure if I hang around long enough some of that knowledge will seep in....then one day maybe I can figure these danged scatterguns out.

When I visit I usually hit the New Posts button but mostly end up in the Handguns section and while there I tend to plop my arse in the wheel gunners seat. Them Brass-pukin' Bottom-feeders amuse me once in a while.

I think you mean THR Rooms:
1 - revolvers
2 - bottom feeders

2- I didn't realize there was a separate lawyers forum. :neener:
(All you lawyers on the board, settle down. It's a joke. I was a paralegal once.;) )

To answer the question: General Discussion, Then Strats and Tacs, then Legal/RKBA, then the gunsmithing one.

1. Shotguns
2. Hunting (although given the season, I'm spending more time there)

I look through most of the rest, but it's more like skimming. Probably 90% of my time is spent either talking shotguns, or the critters you can shoot with them. :D

"2- I didn't realize there was a separate lawyers forum."

:D :D
Know what? When I read that I thought he meant the Legal & Political forum! Chuckled a bit at it at the time. ... and semi's is my own bailiwick! I must be around lawyers too much. :)

<scratches head>

I've been waiting for at least one post indicating a certain "room" here at THR and nobody has yet to even refer to it.

I often go to this "room", I often do not even log in , still I have spent hours in this room.

Lots of really really neat stuff, in this room. The wood furniture is cool, the furnishings are cool, and there are all sorts of cool stuff to play with.

THR Library

Just look up to your upper right...a little more...a bit futher right, yeah next to Forum Rules.

Aww heck, here: http://thehighroad.org/library/

There is another "room" I am waiting to see if anyone frequents. This "room" is also really cool, very useful, and folks don't seem to use it often either - or mention it they do.

Gotta run, seems the Brown Truck showed up - so exciting to see who get what delivered. Folks even post pictures sometimes.

Old Fuff will have to wait. I was supposed to run down to Gunsmithin'. Seems Old Fuff launched a guide plug off a Gov't Model of 1911 - again. Tuner snagged it from behind a chair. Them two are fussing, Tuner wants to keep the plug and neither of them two wants to install a light bulb that was busted in the launch.
Jim Keenan is laughing at these two...

Private Messages...

Brian,

Now would I ever be doing stuff behind the scenes that folks didn't know about?
:uhoh:

You ought to see what goes on in my emails...especially one of my accounts!

I'm just passing forward like I'm 'pposed to...;)

Generally start out in the Living Room (GenDisc) first, then on to the War Room (Legal/Political) thence to Show and Tell and maybe the marketplace.

Also spend a bit of time over at that place out back, over to the side of the benches, out of the way of the firing line, where the campfire is, called ArmedPoliteSociety.

Truthfully I seem to learn more in Hunting... I'm entertained in General, and I post a lot in Handguns (general)... I steer well clear of L&P most days... heck most months even.

Hopefully I'm still useful in the Rifle forum, where I make my home.

Sometimes we (the staff) need the quiet of the lounge to discuss (loudly) our opinions, but mostly we share what's on our minds.

For Folks that don't know - this is kind of like a Dead Poet's Society. I think pax just wants to run and play in a cave to get away from her kids...

Staff Lounge...is my picture up on the wall in there? Last I heard it had a prominent spot over the front of the dart board.

Not a real picture of me - only staff that knows what I look like is Preacherman...and he promised being Clergy and all not to tell different...well that and a certain ammo fund that got started and he just happens to be in charge of it...

Gus-
There you are. How have you been?

You are NOT a moron. You have all sorts of knowledge, like how to get that dad of yours to let you have reloads to shoot. How to tell your new husband "going shooting, feed yourself" :p , and can give perspectives on revolvers, semis, swords ( see I remembered your hubby liked these) and conceal carry holsters for other ladies.

Now you could come visit APS, I 'learnt" what a SpinkyWhirl was the other day...why them SpinkyWhirl's can shoot guns - did ya know that? ;)

Then I find a SpinkyWhirl here on THR , Imagine that?

Regards,

Steve

Generally autoloaders though I do like revolvers, the autoloading section gets a lot of traffic therefore there is more for me to respond to. Trying to get out of visiting legal and political, I'll end up getting in to too much trouble there and I'm here to talk about guns!

I tend to hang around General a lot, actually. Go fig, eh?

Second would be L&P, to angry up the blood, as Grandpa Simpson would put it.

Then on to Autoloaders, Rifles, peek into competition, and back to General.

New posts.

Which reminds me of something i've been meaning to ask.

Why is it that at some times of day, "new posts" has 6 pages, and other times of day, it has only 1 or 2.

For those of us that haunt the wee hours (we work nights), after work at 1 AM, it's a bummer to find only 2 pages of "new posts". It's as if the "new posts" for the last 24 hours shrank. (Is shrank a word?)

I'm wondering what the criteria are for "new posts".

Couldn't the parameters be set so that there are six pages of "new posts" displayed regardless of how long ago said "new posts" were posted, so even us night owls can keep track of what's happening?

Just thinking out loud here. No truth implied.
