He announced that he was taking steps to create executive actions regarding "ghost guns" :uhoh:, red flag laws, and stabilizing braces. I've seen panic and retraction from the online community, but can someone please clarify whether any actual laws have been passed or changed on a national level at this point since Biden took office?

Thanks.

Probably won't see anymore come up until after midterms. Just my opinion though...

I agree, but could someone LMK if anything new has actually passed since Biden took office? All of his "executive actions" in the links above seem to basically be "suggested language" and similar garbage. Am I missing anything?

Am I missing anything?
You do not appear to have missed anything.

All manner of bills have been advanced over this Congress--virtually all of them were "xeroxes" of the same lame-brain and hare-brain bills filed in every Congress by the same batches of loony-tunes, all for the political theater and bragging rights to their constituents.

Now, such amendments and "riders" that have been put "into play" did as they were intended, and "poison pilled" the legislation, or were bargained away--making federal law is as messy as making sausage by hand, and with less useful product as a result. It's no "victory" by any one group, or by any one political party either--all just fall-out from a do-nothing Congress.

While there have been all manner of bureaucratic rats playing behind the skirting boards, there do not appear to be any major changes to CFR regarding firearms, either. That's largely down to "us" our Comments on Proposed Changes to CFR basically forced them to withdraw the Proposals.

Meanwhile several of the States have improved their firearms laws (some few will have become stricter, too).
And that last bit may be the telling part. It ill be hard to argue for new Federal Laws while the States are removing restrictions (and making significant, if mostly symbolic, declarations of 2nd Amendment Amnesty, too).

Laws must be passed by Congress. The President has no legislative power.

The Executive Branch can instruct agencies to issue regulations, based on laws passed by Congress, that may tighten restrictions.

Executive Orders instruct agencies to undertake such regulatory action.

Obama pretty much exhausted the realm of Executive Orders and regulatory action. Presumably, Trump will have overturned some of those Orders and Regulations, so Biden could reenact some Obama era stuff. But really, there’s not much he can do.

Does it really surprise anyone that much of what politicians say is little more than political theater.

Now if someone wants to start a thread focusing on documented, specific matters -- okay. But this vague blather is pretty pointless -- and off topic.
