What other semi-auto would you trade your AR15 for?

Well, “system” is certainly a Mall Ninja buzzword when discussing a rifle, but it is not in the halls of SOCOM, the classrooms and ranges of USAJFKSWC, for the people of USAMC, and for the authors of authoritative firearms texts. They are a little more serious about discussion of these things than most folks trading M1s and M1As for AR15s, at least they were when I was associated with them. When a basic design becomes a “platform” (another Mall Ninja buzzword) for additional equipment depending on type of mission profile (damn, that is another Mall Ninja phrase, I wonder if the Mall Ninjas are co-opting professional terminology for their own self-aggrandizement?) the word “system” is commonly used. Example: in the 1980’s Nom de Forum built, serviced, and rebuilt M21 System sniper weapons. These were a system created by using a modified and refined M14NM and various optical components. For any “Mall Ninjas” reading this post; context and source is all important, you are not fooling anyone but yourself and your fellow posers.

What did I say that is difficult to believe? Shoot either platform enough, and you'll eventually understand. I can't make you. Not all ARs are accurate, not all AKs are inaccurate. Hopefully, you'll get it.

I was not commenting on your physical characteristics but on the same old type of remarks that are endlessly repeated on the subject. Platypuses are admirable so if I had labeled you as one you should be proud.

M1 Carbine maybe? You could get one with folding stock, would be very compact

USGI M1 carbines are going up in price and AR's are going down. I grabbed one before they all hit a grand and because I don't like 5.56. Ammo is a little scarce though.

I'd love to own a SCAR16/17 but they are well over $2k

Are all of your ARs optimized for accuracy? Why does the military require 4 moa for service rifles then, which most AKs can do?

You're right, we are making this an AK vs thread. Keep your ARs if it works Nom.

Edit to Add: I'd like to add an East German Karabiner S to my short list. I'd trade an AR for that in a New York minute.
