Okay, now that's disturbing. What I don't understand is why it wasn't easier and cheaper to make a whole new gun. That doesn't even make sense. If you're going to go to all that effort to make a 1911 into a Tokarev, why not just make a Tokarev? I own both, and in all honesty, there's no functional advantage the 1911 has over the Tokarev. For all intents and purposes, they're the same gun. The manual of arms is identical. Both are accurate, both are reliable with the round they're designed for. The Tokarev is a little lighter weight and smaller, equivalent in size to a Commander-length 1911. But for all practical purposes, they're the same.this is a poor example of a 1911 in 7.62x25 but the DO Exist

Hard to say "eating crow" when the gun was pretty much remanufactured to a pointless extent to allow it to happen, and it was unsafe and broke. It wasn't even really the same gun anymore.That's funny... the gentleman that said it can't be done ate crow...
