What revolver would you get????

Really hard to say there is a nice 1851 navy colt at my local gun shop for 1300... but since it has to be 1000 i'd say a Colt Python.

Python can't be had for a grand anymore - at least not where I have seen them. Even Troopers are flirting with a grand (certainly staying in the $500-900 range easily). Lest folks bemoan a Colt going for that much, they do and folks are willing to pay that much evidently.

A nice Colt Police Positive Special in .38 Special is at the top of my revolver want list.

For me it was a S&W Mountain Revolver in .44 Magnum. 1989 manuf.
Still need holsters/grips.

I have:
S&W 625-10 5" bbl. .45 CP/.45 Auto RIm
S&W 617-8? 6" Bbl. .22 LR 10 shot cyl. (WTS fwiw)
S&W 60-15 3" Bbl. .357 Mag.

Wanna get Revolver list for a $1K Budget

1. S&W 610 4" Bbl. might find one on GB for that
but the 5" and 6.5" modesl are getting far north of $1k

2. S&W Model 58 4" Bbl. fixed sights .41 Mag
just cuz it looks like a M&P on steroids

3. S&W Model 63 to go with my model 63

4. Some K/L frame
perhaps a Model 15 COmbat Masterpiece K-38

5. Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt
for $1K buy two of them

Several others but theyare over budget
like a S&W Model 27-2 5" bbl.

Taurus Silhouette in 44 mag. Add quality handgun glass and that should put me at about $1k.

I bought one several years ago and sold it to my dad:banghead: It's a great gun. I can hit 32oz bottles at 100 yards with it. I've never shot a deer with it but that is definitely on the bucket list. Provided good shot placement, I think it would be a hammer!
Oh well, at least it went to dad. I still shoot it every once in a while::)

I'm with Sam1911 in that nothing priced that high is calling me. I'd definitely pick up a stainless SP-101 in .22LR, though. Then maybe a 3" something (S&W 36?) in .38 Special or something, if I had to spend the rest..

Well my most recent buy was a Colt Army Special 38 made in 1915.

So I guess if I had 1k to spend it'd be another Colt brand of some historical note.
I don't know, can you get an 1873 Peacemaker for $1,000?

I'd like to have back the S&W 657 3 inch Lew Horton I once owned. Most likely couldn't touch one for under a grand nowadays though. So I'll take a stainless Ruger Bisley 5.5 inch AcuSport in. 45 Colt. I'd be satsfied with that. Should be well under a grand for that one.

I just had such an opportunity and it was an easy one for me. I chose a 'pre-owned' S&W Performance Center 627 V-Comp in all silver finish (the older ones were not black) and pre-lock (although the lock doesn't worry me). It was somewhere around $1K. 8 rounds of 38 or magnum power, space age look, front muzzle brake, an action work over making the PC work look like childs-play. The smoothest operating handgun of any type or size I've ever owned. Thanks again to the seller btw. I realize that the looks may be just too weird for some people and I understand if you feel that way. But it's most excellent.

A minty S&W 19 for the collection or perhaps a full custom Ruger SP101 for carry. With that option there might be enough leftover to experiment with a variety of carry loads and holsters.
