Spec Ops and elite forces in israel (which means everyone, compared to normal militaries ) are being equipped with Tavors.
Thats BS. If you look at the Tavor, there are ejection ports on both sides. You can take apart the tavor to use the left or right port, although you can't flip switches in combat.
The French bullpup? The F2000 ejects forwards.... and is Belgian. The FAMAS (is really old) does not have a 'switch ejection side' button.
Normal rifles eject sideways, but the ejection port clears the user enough on both sides (usually) it doesn't matter.
The primary and usually non-fixable problem with bullpups is they are utterly unusable by left-handed soldiers. Whereas with a normal rifle the cartridge would simply eject in front of their body, with a bullpup it would eject directly into their face. Now, granted, there WAS one French bullup design that could be made to eject on either side with the flip of a switch, but bullpups are normally bad for the decent percentage of lefties in the armed forces.
