The only one i could find was the CZ452 bolt action. I was wondering if there was any others. I'm only looking for .17HMR, NOT the .17 Mach 2.

Check on Rimfirecentral.com. They have a 17 HMR forum section there.

You've found the CZ, why look for any others? I have the Varmint and American CZ 452's and both shoot one MOA or better consistently and both have shot sub 1/2 MOA at 100 yds under good conditions.

Good luck in your search.

Any semiautos? I'm guessing the CZ452 is creme of the crop when it comes to the bolt style rifles?

Don't forget

I have a Winchester 1885 Low Wall in 17 HMR and Kimber has a nice one I have seen not sure on the model though.

Ruger was working on a 10/17 but it never panned out. Savage does not make a semi auto .17 that I have ever seen and it is not on their site. Mossberg also has a .17 bolt action. Volquartsen and one other company that I can't remember now make semi autos in .17 hmr and I think M2.

Excel arms is the other company. and I think I saw a .17 cal 1911 kit once but don't quote me on that.

volquatzen , mag research, and remmy are the only ones. the volquartzen will be reliable, and safe, out of the box, so will the mag reasearch. the remmy will not be, but can be made so, if one does the rail job found under the stickies, under the remmington thread, over on rimfirecentral.com. otherwise, it could fire out of battery, this is only a prob for the semi's though.

Does anybody make a carbine like rifle with HMR also? Just wondering, I think it is a cool little round.

Although 452s are, IMO, exceptional bargains, they are still quite short from "cream of the crop (crème de la crop)". Anschütz and Cooper.

Thanks for that link WAID. That actually looks pretty neat for a little varmint plinker. I'm not looking for a hi-cap ar15 type rifle or anything, although I would wanna see what one look like just for kicks.

Weatherby (Anschutz action) makes a really pretty one that performs up to its appearance.

Henry makes lever guns. Fun, though I think the bolties will be more accurate way out there.

Marlin's bolt guns are definitely worth a look, and shoot better than their prices would suggest. This stainless heavy barrel laminate version of the 917 retails just over 300 bucks:

CZ's are bargains. Sort of. They used to be more of a bargain while the dollar was riding high on the mortgage bubble. They're still truly GREAT guns.

My bud shoots the basic, cheapest model Savage with the accutrigger in 17hmr. We put a $30 bushnell on it and were killing eggs at 100yrds within minutes. Is certainly an accurate, and fun gun when out on the prairie, making pDogs and jacks literally turn inside-out.
