What special guns do you have that you intend to give to your kids?

3 that are definitely getting passed down.

Remington 31 that was my granddads.

Marlin 60 that was a Christmas present to me from same granddad

H&R .410 from same granddad (the next Christmas after the 60).

By the time I die (statistically, anyway), inheriting mine might be the only way for them to get any. They'll get 'em all if they want 'em.

Whenever one of my shooting buddies lusts after one of my M1 Garands, I tell 'em "Sorry, my Garands go to my first and second born. Hmmm. . . guess I'm only gonna have two kids."

I suppose I would also like to pass on my Sako .30-06 hunting rifle and Remington 870 Wingmaster TB since they are the nicest long guns in my modest collection.

As for handguns, well. . . one will get a Les Baer Custom Carry 1911 and the other will get a Glock G17.:D

Well, they get all of them, but the truly special ones as far as I'm concerned are my great-grandfathers pocket pistol, my grandfather's and dad's shotguns and the Dutch Mannlicher that my dad brought home from WWII.

To me, that last one is the really special one. The guy carrying it killed one of the guys in my dad's squad, and my dad killed him. He dragged that thing all the way to Czechoslovakia and then on the troopship home.

He also brought back a P.08, a Tokarev (traded a Russian soldier for that), a couple of Berettas, his .45 and a couple of flare pistols. Everything but the Berettas were stolen in a break-in when I was a teenager. :cuss:

I was seriously contemplating having them buried with me. In an unmarked grave. Way out in west Texas.
