Have any of you ever had that special feeling when you held a gun for the first time and you knew it was destiny? It was weird, but a CZ P01 gave me that fluttery feeling- just like the one you get when you see that "special someone".

So what is your "special gun"?

Colt series 80 Gov't Model 1911. It's my first 1911 and it gave me that special feeling when I got it to the range the first time after purchasing it.

My sar-1..Its not my biggest caliber. Its not my most expencive. Its not the most accurate gun i have. Its not allot of things. But I never have loved a gun more then it.Well maybe my .45 but hey :) I remember after 40 rapid shots my first time shooting it.I said outloud "Holly S@it" Dang barrel was smokin and hot..

Funny that for a bunch of you it would be the 1911. For me I checked them out from time to time at the gunshop and never really liked them nearly as much as the hype. Then I shot one. Well, when I bought my Charles Daly to see if I might like a 1911 and got it on the range, that is when the 1911 finally did it for me. Now that I already love the 1911 they do that for me, put it in my hand and it feels right, but that didn't come right away.

For the feeling like the gun is just right the first time I put it in my hand, I've had a few:

-M16: The first gun I ever shot. It was Basic Training, Ft. Jackson, SC late Oct or early Nov 1989 (definately didn't shoot it until well into Nov, but it first hit my hands either late Oct or early Nov).

-Marlin 60: It was my first gun so my heart skipped a beat or two when I first handled it.

-Taurus 82: It was my first handgun so I got all giddy for about a month every time I touched it.

-S&W 65LS: My first S&W, my first .357mag. It still feels good to put that one in my hand.

-CZ 75B: I loved this gun long before I ever shot one, then I shot one and loved it more, then I finally bought one and wow.

-S&W M19: Heck, just about any S&W revolver does this for me.

-Taurus 85CH: It just feels right

-S&W M57: Ok, so I love revolvers.

-Taurus PT 911, S&W 908 and S&W 910: These all feel very similar to me, and they all feel like they were made for my hand. I will own one of each, but I don't own any yet.

-Winchester 94: When I got my 30-30 just over 2 years ago I didn't really think I'd like a lever gun (I was all ga ga over the ARs, AKs and even Mini-14s at the time). Not tactical. But they were economical so I picked one up and they've been my favorite ever since (I really love both of my current 94s, the original 30-30 and a newer .45LC) and I will be adding more.

Back in '68 in Germany. Only handgun I knew was the GI 1911A1. While scrounging around in the orderly room arms safe one day, I came across a Browning HP owned by one of the NCOs. Love at first sight. It fit my hand so much better than old slabsides that I bought one as soon as I got back to the states. Of course then, like a fool, I went out and actually SHOT the thing. That's when I learned what hammer bite was all about.

Hmmm...
The first gun that it happened with is the rifle My father gave Me as a kid.
A Mariln bolt action .22 rimfire, Model 781. Being My first firearm, it has that certain sentimentality to it.

Love the feel of M1911's, still saving up for one though.
Modern CZ's too. Especially the P-O1. That's another one on the "have to buy" list.
Have a Ruger GP-100 that does the same thing for Me as well. Ever since I put a pair of Hogue monogrips on it, it's even better.
Just feels like buttah I tells ya! :D

Mk 38, 25mm chain gun (naval deck mount), or the mk19 40mm grenade spitting machine (also deck mounted). The m-14 ranks close to the aforementioned noisetoys.

For civilian guns I would have to go with the first gun I ever owned, a Savage model 24 in .222 over and 20 ga under. No finer gun exists for initiating the demise of flying fish.

The M60 machine gun in the Corps. Shot expert with it about 3 hours after I first touched it. I loved it even when I was humping it for a twenty mile road march.

**bad singing voice**

"I can't see me loving nobody but you for all my liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiife."

**you can uncover your ears again**

It would have to be my python. Considering it was THE gun that always drew me to my dad's gun mags as a kid. I got mine at a time when I never thought I'd be able to afford one-- not long out of college, working for the man, not making any money... and then a friend of my dad's, who was always trading guns got one in.
He knew how much I wanted one- and sold it to me for a STEAL !
I actually pulled it out last nite and looked at it- haven't shot it in awhile, but I think that may soon change.

Without a doubt, this is the one gun I would never get rid of.

The first time I got 'the feeling' was with an old Russian SKS, believe it or not. Everything about that rifle was a 'perfect fit'. My better half used to joke that I could "shoot the wings off a fly" with that thing, lol!

The next time, it was a SIG P-220. I picked one up at a gun show and as soon as that handgun was in my hand, I knew that one day...it would be mine...and it was.

1911. Specifically, my Springfield PX9109L. I'd held and shot other 1911's and it never hit me. Once I bought this one (my first gubmint model) though, I was in love :D

I have three guns I feel that way about. The first gun that really did it for me was a Browning BDA .380. The first time I picked it up I knew I had to have one. Although I don't shoot it a lot, I still love to take it out and fondle it. IMO, it has the best feel and one of the best looking guns around, I just wish it were in 9mm. Another gun that really got to me is my Beretta 92D Centurion. It also called out to me and seemed to be just right. Finally, my S&W 66 2 1/2" snub with Pachmayr Compac Professional grips, once again a perfect blend of fit and function.

The 1911.

The first time I picked one up and squeezed it's trigger, I knew I was in love.

"****!!! Where have you been all my life!!!?"

I liked it. I liked it ALOT.

:D

Taurus Millenium series. For some reason it looked like the gun for me. Then I held one, and it fit like a glove. Now I own one....

Ruger 10/22. Another gun that fits me like a glove.

Zoli o/u shotgun. Unfortuantely, this is in a friends possesion and I don't have the cash to take it off his hands. This gun was made for me.
