Rifle, Handgun or Shotgun? Just a few words about the Best one you've ever owned. :)
Mine would have to be my Ruger M77/Tang safety in 30-06. Has never failed me in any way. Built a lot of fine memories with it.
Handgun would be my Old Model Ruger 44 Mag. Super BlackHawk. Killed my first handgun Mule Deer with this handgun....:)
Shotgun is the old Model 870 Rem 12 gauge, lots of good hunt with this old friend....:)

'Best' is a difficult term to nail down.

My favorite would be my converted Saiga. Utterly reliable, fun as heck.

Handgun, probably my CZ Kadet. The Sig 220 is my carry gun for now, but it's not as fun to shoot.

I may alter this post when my Kahr gets out of layaway this week.

I really do not shoot it much any more, but my Marlin 39a, vintage 1952, puchased new by my father.

Vector arms uzi. Very fun to shoot, quite accurate, and accessories are rather cheap.

In the handguns category, I'd have to say the Uberti Hartford model in .45 LC is pretty cool. Low recoil, beautiful construction.

Favorite is a Remington 512P. It will be the last gun in the collection. It was the first one also. From 1948 and holds its own with the the expensive production rifles made today.

Handgun..M19-4. Feels great in the hand, very accurate and just plain pretty to look at.
Rifle..Weatherby XXII. Beatifully crafted, trigger like butter, very accurate and a joy to shoot.

I am partial to my S&W Model 629 Classic and Sig 229. I like the simplicity of my Rem 870. As far as rifles, a Steyr SSG 69 in .308 tops my list.

It's hard to pick just one. I started shooting with a Ruger Bearcat, still have it, still shoot. It's a wonderful range companion. I love taking the P5 to the range as well. I've pumped hundreds and hundreds of rounds through it without a hiccup -- flawless every time and fun to shoot. I've also got a 10/22 that's a range hoot to boot. Too many guns, I guess.

As above, best is relative:

Best target pistol: Pardini SP
Best CCW pistol: Rohrbaugh R9s
Best pistol: Ed Brown SF 1911 (4.25")
Best revolver: S&W 29 (4")
Best rifle: 1942 Garand NM
Best shotgun: Beretta Citori

Best revolver: S&W 29 (4")
Seconded!

Best bolt-action military rifle: K-31
Best semi-auto carbine: AKS-74
Best target pistol: Ruger Mk II 5-1/2" bull barrel

All other categories defy an easy "best" classification, in my collection, at least.

Winchester 77 .22 my Dad gave me when I was 12 that his dad gave him at 12. Too bad some asshat stole it a few years ago. I am looking to replace it. It was the magazine feed version

I have a lot of guns that are scary accurate and extremely reliable but if I had to pick a favorite it would be my Bushmaster AR-10. This gun has taken several hundred animals over the years from Coyotes, to Pigs, to Deer at ranges out to 300+ yards without a single hiccup. The gun feels comfortable to me and is effortless in dipatching whatever I aim it at.

As far as a handgun It is more flavor of the week, I have several that are fantastic. If I had to pick today I would say my Kimber warrior but who knows what I would say next week. This gun has been flawless and super accurate since I have owned it.

It's the much sought-after but seldom-found Speed Six. It was barely fired and in pristine condition when I bought it, a real gem. When I bought it, I was just looking for a good, basic .357 revolver so I just bought the first Ruger I found, figuring that I couldn't go wrong with one of those. At the time, I had no idea what great guns Speed Sixes were or how much they were sought after, so I really lucked into a good thing.

My best:
Kimber Custom II

Not flashy. Doesn't have any tacticool junk bolted on. It is 100% reliable and shoots straight. Last one of my guns I would ever part with.

My 1942 mosin nagant.

My first gun of any sort and it's taught me pretty much everything when it comes to the subject.

maybe not my best gun, but my favorite was a .22/.410 O/U I grew up with.

my best gun...probably the custom build I did on a mauser reciever.
