First Shot: Ruger Super Redhawk in 44 magnum with a 7.5" barrel.

I remember shooting Remington hollow points out of it, that had a stout kick to them.

First Purchased: 3" Ruger Sp101 in 357 magnum.

I still have this gun.

I'm in the same category as Ultramag, except mine is a blued Security Six with a 4 inch barrel. I have owned it from age 14 to age 46.

The first revolver I shot was (I think) a S&W Model 17. Been a long time so I really am not sure. The first revolver I bought was around 1990 and was a 6" S&W Model 29-5. Thinking I paid $250 for that gun and still have it. Interesting -5 as it has no flutes on the cylinder.

That 29-5 got me started on revolvers which I had avoided before then.

My friend has a 6" golden colored Chiappa Rhino and it's a sweet, sweet piece. I fired my first rounds of .38sp and .357mag out of it, and naturally I needed a revolver after that. I'd formerly been an all automatics guy who never owned fired or wanted a revolver. That changed after one cylinder.

I got a 7.5" Super Blackhawk in .44mag some time later as my first revolver.

The first revolver I ever shot was,,,

The first revolver I ever shot was,,,
My grandfather's little snub-nose 38.

I was only four but I remember it vividly. :D

It was probably an Iver Johnson,,,
He always referred to it as his Owl's Head gun.

The first one I ever bought was this Rohm .22 short,,,

It would have been in 1963 for $5.00 at a garage sale.

Why did I buy it?

Because I had the money,,,
And Mom was looking the other way. ;)

First I ever shot...I remember some kind of Single Action 22 that we'd sneak out of a friends house and shoot down on the creek bed. I'd like to say it was a Ruger Single-Six, but I couldn't swear to that.

The first one I ever bought was a Smith & Wesson Model 19, blue steel, 357 of course, 4" barrel, target sights.

First revolver I had and first revolver I shot were one and the same: a Hawes Deputy Marshall single action convertible in .22LR and .22 Magnum. Blued with white plastic grips, what I remember the most about that gun was how loud it was firing .22 Magnums!

Howdy

Great Topic!

I remember it well. I was about 12 years old. The family was at an amusement park somewhere. Mom, Dad, Nana, and Pop. There was a shooting gallery. I had the choice of shooting a rifle or a revolver. It had to be the revolver, no two ways about it. My Dad said, 'But you get ten shots with the rifle, and only six with the revolver'. There was no shaking my determination to shoot the revolver. I can still feel the grip in my hand today, it was a Smith and Wesson K-22.

Six years later, the first revolver I bought was an Uberti brass framed 44 caliber 'Navy'.

But in 1975 the first cartridge revolver I bought was a Smith and Wesson Model 17-3. Successor to the K-22. Brand-spanky new in the box. Still have it today, box, papers, tools, everything.

Best $125 I ever spent.

And just a couple of months ago I picked up a Winchester Model 1890 just like the ones at the shooting gallery.

First Shot: ~1968 Hawes Western Marshal .357

Dad bought the pistol and we added .357 & .38 to our reloading repertoire.

First Purchased: 1973 150- model blued 4" Ruger Security Six .357

I bought this for, IIRC, ~$125 in a Charlottesville gunshop a few months after my 21st birthday.

Sold it to a friend in VaB several years later and, shortly thereafter, replaced it with a 151- model s/s 2¾" Ruger Security Six .357

First ever shot: My father's Colt Python
First ever bought: Ruger Blackhawk .357 Mag bought from my grandfather

I've still got them both.

The first one I ever shot was a 9-shot double action .22 lr that my brother had. I was 7 or so. He was 10 years older. I don't remember the name brand, maybe Iver Johnson or something like that. I loved that pistol and we lived in the sticks so I got to shoot it pretty often.

The first one I actually bought was a 4" blued Ruger GP100. It's the one I think about when people ask about guns that you traded and regretted. I got way less than it was worth. Still kick myself.

First one: grandpa's H&R .22, plinking at rocks and cactus and an occasional jackrabbit on the expansive plains of southeastern Colorado.

First revolver purchase: An H&R 9-shot .22. I no longer have this revolver, but Grandpa's H&R is watching over my Smiths, Rugers, and Colts in my safe.

As best I can remember, its been well over 30 years... , the first revolver I fired was a longish, maybe 6 inch .357, I want to say S&W, but don't really know.

The first I bought was a 4in heavy barrel S&W M-10 in .38, loved that gun, wish I still had it.....
