What was your First Firearm?

My first gun was a Western Auto Revelation .22 bolt gun (made by Marlin), my folks gave it to me for my 12th birthday.
The first gun I bought for my self would be a Savage .222 and a Mossberg 500, which I bought from my uncle, along with a bow and hunting clothes, when he decided to leave all that behind. $150 for the whole thing in '76. I had to sell the .222 for car insurance money (to my dad, I'll buy it back someday), but I've still got the .22 (needs a new firing pin) and the Mossberg.

Hope some of you all get such goodies...

Merry Christmas,
JohnMc

Remington Nylon 66, for my 10th birthday, some 46 years ago (sigh!)

Still have it -- a tack driver then and now. :D

Winchester bolt action 22 when I was 13. Bought it from my dad. Didn't have a magazine, so it was essentially a single shot. Gave it up to my dad's old employee so his son could learn on it. Next was a Chinese SKS, many years later...

First gun that I still have? Colt 1991A1 Compact...

Mosburg .22 bolt action, micrometer peep sight w/7 rd mag. It was originally a WWII training rifle. Had a cracked stock, I replaced it with a Fajen.

I bought it for $11 when I was 11. Used it in indoor competition at a Woodmen of the World club.

Still got it 41 yrs later, and it's a serious tack driver.

Well, the FIRST gun was a Red Ryder. :)

The first real gun was a Winchester Model 1200 12 gauge, circa 1974.

Hypnogator,
Which Nylon 66 did you get? Mine is a bolt action, found out they were only made for 2 years! The only one that is rairer is the lever action. Took it to a gun show and had remmie collectors following me around.

First gun purchase "out of my own pocket" was a Colt 70 series Government Model 45ACP back in 1980 on my 21st birthday. Cash and carry, but the dealer had to fill out his ammunition register for the boxes of ammo I also purchased. Remember that stupid law?

Kick my self everytime I think about it since it was sold sometime in the 1990's to fianance another project.

Live and try to learn........

First gun was a Marlin single shot .22. I have since passed it on to my uncle so he can teach his kids to shoot with it. The first gun I bought is a Remington 572 BDL pump .22. I still have it, and it's the only cartridge gun I still use regularly. (It's almost all muzzleloaders now.)

My first was a Harrington and Richardson tube fed .22 rifle. That was about 50 years ago. It was also the first gun I had to do some gunsmithing on. It would get a FTF about every 5th round. The firing pin look like a round punch instead of the usual small rectangle. I removed the pin and filed (and filed, and filed - it was very hard steel) it down to a nice little rectangle. Worked perfectly from then on. :) Being a little kid, I was pretty proud of my detective work and smithing. The only clue I had was from looking at a fired casing of a friends rifle that worked better than mine. I noticed that his casings had deep, and small, indentations, but mine had a half-moon shaped shallow indentation.

The first I bought was 22 years ago. It was a used 10/22 from "Al" Capone, owner of King Gun Works, the 1911 specialists. Sadly, Al died last month due to prostate cancer. I still have the 10/22.

An AMT hardballer purchased for about $200. I still have it, and plan on having it accu-railed and rebuilt into a decent shooter, at the moment its not even complete. I cant get rid of it because of sentimental value, but hate having a worthless chunk of steel laying around (thats not sitting on wheels anyway).

Kimber Series 1 Polymer Stainless.
That was my second. I havent fired my AMT since I got it.

First one was a Marlin .22 given to me by a friend years ago when I moved out to a very rural area by myself.

The first gun I bought for myself was a Sig P232.

First gun, ever, was a Remington Nylon 66. It was a little .22LR autoloading rifle. Got it when I turned 8. It was stolen from my parents' house somewhere along the way.

My first handgun was a Ruger MKII, Target Barrel, .22LR. Still have it. Got it when I turned 12.

The first gun I bought with my own money was a Taurus M85. It is currently on loan to my Mom.

My first was a Heritage Arms rough rider. I got it for my 16th birthday. :)

Second was a Marlin 60 tube fed .22LR rifle.

Third, the first I got for myself, was a Glock 19 that I got in Nov.

I like all three and I dont plan on getting rid of them anytime soon.

The first gun I ever bought was a remington 870 HD express magnum... but the first I ever owned was a remington 700 in 30-06, though I had never fired it when I bought the 870. First gun I ever shot was a .38 special snubbie.
