in my mind i have to break this up into 3 firsts.
first gun i was "told" was mine (explain in a sec), Remington 870 wingmaster 12ga, was about 11 or 12 at the time, 11 years later i moved to texas and in the time between my getting down here and getting a safe to put my small collection of guns in, my father used this gun for trade goods on a bass boat
yes i WILL be good naturedly bugging him about this for years to come, or at shortest till me "makes good"
(what was he thinking trading away his only son's first shotgun?!!?)
first gun that was bought for me and that I had a hand in choosing, Marlin 39M carbine .22 lever action.
and the first gun i bought for myself savage 110FP in .223 the gun that truly got me hooked on accurate rifles and reloading for them.
sadly the both the marlin and the savage fell prey to incidents of "i need money NOW or we won't eat and this is the only one i MIGHT be able to replace someday"
and yes i am always on the look out for their replacements (a replacement savage in .308 is next on the "gonna get" list)
