I know this topic has been discussed all over this board, but I am wondering what you guys think will happen to gun rights, IF Kerry wins.

Kerry would be the first Presidnt ever elected who has backed the extreme grabber wing of the gun control side without hesitation for 20 years - so it is tough to say how bad it would be; but it wouldn't be good.

If you want a preview of what to expect, in March 2004, Kerry voted to ban all centerfire rifle ammunition, including .30-30 specifically by name (apparently the United States most common deer rifle now uses "armor piercing" ammunition).

With a democratic congress, it would mean the end of civilian firearms ownership in the USA, gun registration first confiscation next, even Duck assault shotguns. Maybe we could keep our pellet guns and .22's as long as we were members of a gun club and could store them there and show that we were involved in competition.

All semi autos would be banned first, The centerfire rifles next, then finally everything else. Oh and handguns of course, the clear choice of crimminals and murderers, would be banned after the assualt weapons.

4 years under Kerry

I would be worried about Bush with a Repulican Congress and not having to face an election again than I would by Kerry with the same Congress.

Bush worries me...This got a lot of discussion awhile back in this forum, I haven't seen a reply yet.

Please do not forget that Herr Kerry can direct the BATFe to be creative in its regulations. They already have the foundation. "Sporting Uses" would be used in all manner of evil ways (evil to us). That is assuming he has an opposing congress.

If he were to have Congress in his pocket, (the attempt at) confiscation is a real possibility.

Kerry will put lipstick on the AWB and try to pass it off as something else, with or without a Democrat congress.

A .50 cal ban will be implemented which will then morph into centerfire restrictions (sniper rifles).

Anything with a detachable magazine will be heavily restricted.

De-Mil will become a new buzz word. Eventually de-mil will be combined with detachable magazines legislation and centerfire restrictions.

The really dangerous stuff will not come from Kerry and congress but from Teresa and the UN. The lady is a worldclass one-worlder and blissninny. There is a lot of garbage regarding guns in the UN agenda which has been stiff armed by Bush. Ms. Heinz will facilitates its infection of the US debate.

Our resident (cut and paste) Troll and avid anti gunner W4rma and his/her ilk will wet themselves in excitement because Kerry will find a way to renew the AWB and move us more toward California style extreme left wing positions on guns.

If Congress also changes, get ready for a permit to own a handgun.

1 gun a month purchase limits

10-14 day wait

Only "approved guns" on the list.

Mandatory trigger locks, "safe storage devices" and alot more problems as far as RKBA goes.

Hey, that's exactly how it is here. Well, except we get to store them at home provided we have a 300 pound safe.

Some pretty dire forecasts here leading to the obvious question: People are really going to stand by and let the 2A be shredded to nothing? The underlying issue is lack of true political representation. When does that issue bubble to the top?

All this banning / confiscation stuff WILL happen......and mysteriously at the same time forums like these will also mysteriously disappear as well I am very sure of. Our right to assemble and communicate will be done with.

It's all for the children though, at least that makes me sleep better at night.

I guess our ONLY hope is that one state or possibly two tries breaking away causing a constitutional convention..........god only knows.

It's a true shame people actually died 60+ years ago trying to prevent this type of thing from a nation afar.

:uhoh: :barf:

Kerry is predisposed to worship the Europeon style of governing. You can bet he will propose legislation modeled after GB, France, Germany, etc. His presence in the Whitehouse will emphasize the "Europeon Model" at every opportunity. He is not a product what used to be known as the American culture.

Add to that the fact that he is a disingenuous flip flopping dufus completely devoid of principle and you can only cringe at the result.

Right to assemble?-why?

Our right to assemble and communicate will be done with."Logistics".
The people do not need to "assemble" because we have an "Assembly"
elected by the people to assemble for us.
Just like we do not need private ownership of guns because we have a "militia" called the National Guard.

Besides there is only a need to protest when we have a republican president.
Kerry could bomb Iraq like Clinton did with out a peep from the creeps.

Kerry Supporters Please Chime In

We have a number of Kerry supporters on this board. I think that their perspective would be interesting. The rest of us have rather predictable responses.
