What would you do?

wow. he indeed would have seen the bottom of my vehicle and the cops would have been informed he triped after throwing his "tire iron" and i was tring to "escape" the situation. i also would have probably kicked his teeth in.(after i hit him; the ones the crack didnt eat away already.) this video is disgusting and the sheep need to wake up.

I would do the following, in this order:

1. Draw my weapon and have it ready.
2. Drive over the sidewalk or push/scrape by the vehicle in front of me to remove myself from the situation.
3. If he had broken the drivers side window (either one) I would have drawn on him. That tire iron could easily kill someone with a blow to the head, so I'll return the favor ... first.

This video has been circulating for quite some time.

Notice how, despite all the posturing, he selects what he perceives to be as the best available victim to demonstrate his toughness on. An older female in a PT Cruiser is probably not going to go medieval on your A$$.

Like others have stated, this is a good example the importance of "defensive" driving. If you leave enough space between vehicles you can push your way through even with a significantly lighter one. If you are familiar with your car, then you know how far you need to crank the wheel to slap someone with the front or rear quarters while going forward or in reverse.

I probably would have "accidentally" run him over while trying to escape. Although, I seriously doubt he ever would have picked me for his "demonstration".

Guns aren't necessary here. Your best course of action against one loony when you're cased in a full ton of armor designed to withstand crashes that involve preposterous forces is not to learn to shoot.

Learn to drive. Who cares if you bump the people next to you, just get out of there. Killing a person is always a last resort if I recall correctly, and when you're capable of running at 70 miles per hour once you spend half a second making use of that power steering you opted for, it's not a good option.

I would have knocked him on his @$$ with my bumper and then held him there with my gun until the PD arrives. If he hit my drivers door/window then my life is in danger and his is coming it an abrupt halt.

In the state of Louisiana, he would probably be dead if it happened to me. It is legal to use deadly force if someone tries to carjack you here. If he's dead he can't say he wasn't trying to carjack me. If I saw him do it to someone else I would probably yell at him (weapon NOT exposed and from a distance) and see if he comes at me with the weapon. If so, GOOD NIGHT badguy!!!

What is it with Nevada? Last year when I was there (unarmed) I drove out to the Cathedral Rock area to spend the day. It was very remote and we did not pass another car for some time, then all of a sudden we see two native american guys in the middle of the road. When they saw us, they began to fight (staged) in the middle of the road in an attempt to get us to stop the car. Off in the scrub were about 15-20 more Native American guys, hiding, and two vehicles parked behind some bushes. I put the pedal to the floor and maintained my lane of travel. Left with the choice of moving or becoming a hood ornament, the two combatants jumped out of the way and the whole bunch ran up onto the roadway yelling at us and chasing after the car. I hate to think what would have happened if we would have stopped, or slowed considerably for that matter.

When we finally had cell phone reception (20 minutes had passed) we contacted the Nevada Hwy Patrol, who, after about 5 dropped calls due to poor reception, transferred us to the LV Metro Police. I gave them the GPS coordinates, my name and number, and a description of the guys. The bad thing was that another car passed us about 5 miles down the road, and they were headed for the indian guys. I never heard back from the LVMPD, so I do not know what happened.

Once we got out of the park area, we realized that the area has a Peyout (sp?) Indian Reservation adjacent to it, and from what I saw, most were living in poverty, so there is no doubt in my mind that those guys were looking to jack someone or worse.

It has always seemed like a hassle to pack a firearm when we are flying, but I will not go on vacation, stateside, without a firearm again.

IMO this is also a strong argument for packing a large capacity handgun; sometimes six shots are not enough.

i would have drawn my firearm. try to remember what he looked like. call 911. try to drive away. when he broke the driver's side window, he came close to being shot by me. because i am in a vulnerable position sitting with my seat belt on. if he made the window fall down, i'd have felt in imediate danger. not being there, it's hard to tell what i would have done.

Far too many innocent backdrops around to start shooting. Solution is easy, slam the gas pedal when he is between you and the nearest stopping point (i.e. the car in front of you). You (aka the car) will win that battle.
