Whats a good wall hanger for over the fireplace?

"...made by CVA..." They don't make 'em any more. Not even the kits. In-line stuff only now. Dixie Gunworks does though.

just for a different idea

First off not a 6.5 carcano, Italian carbine that supposedly killed
Kennedy. Second off, I like the J. V. M. Bible series in the
ManCave.

My idea, not cheap, is the 1858 carbine black powder
revolver. Not easily loaded. Or make your own with a brass
frame buffalo hand gun. Just make a stock. A very strange,
old looking firearm.

A mosin with spike would be doable.

I think the Mosin would be OK only if it had its bayonet beside the gun in its scabbard...

Do you know the collectors value of a Carcano that matches the specs of the Oswald gun? (they were sold with a cheap Japanese made scope by as mail order house in Chicago.) Probably more rare than most of the guns mentioned here.

Not sure if it's been mentioned above, but how about a nice 13.2mm German T-Gewehr anti-tank rifle?
I've got a spare if you need it.

Pick up a used T/C flintlock on the cheap. You'll get something you can use for shooting or hunting, but if it gets stolen, it's not of much use to a criminal as a weapon.

I would hang the 1927A1 Thompson like someone mentioned. In case of theft, I would have it wired up to electrodes so if someone tried to steal it, they'd get 500K volts and around half an amp. Then when the police ask who broke in, we can say, "the guy on the floor with the crispy hair"

I'm putting together a couple of Trapdoor Springfields for just such use. Bonus, they're both shooters!

Illegal.

Use an electric fence charger, legal, and he still won't get the gun.

Ya really can't do much better'n that Hawken. Maybe a long, striped maple, Pennsylvania flintlock, but...

One of the first things I did when I moved into my house was to place a H&R break-open 12 ga. over the mantle. Fortunately, a previous owner of the house had placed two nails that centered the single perfectly.

A foreign rifle would be ok if it was a war trophy that your dad or grandfather or someone brought back. K98k or Arisaka 99 or Arisaka 38 and it MUST have the bayonet mounted.

My grandfather sold the MP40 he had before he shipped out of Europe back home to the US.

So, I guess I would put up an M1 Carbine, M1 Garand or Springfield. With bayonet mounted!

I would have an unobtrusive wire lock on the trigger guard and it wouldn't be loaded, obviously

I'm partial to my dads old Winchester 97 shotgun that rattles when you shake it and would go off if you thought the word trigger. It's a pretty old gal in a rough, spit in your eye kinda way.
