What's in a name?

I'd wager that MoparMike is a Mopar gearherd named mike... (nothin' wrong there, as I'm a Mopar gearhead myself!)

I like that name... good to know there are other Mopar nuts out there... (we're a small but VERY fierce and close-knit group!)

other cool name - CR Sam... (maybe only cause he's such a cool guy!)

I'm very boring compared to some of you guys.

Edward S. Heato...

Hence esheato, tricky eh? ;)

Who knows. It is easy to look up who it is, but I am not going to tell you how.
Took me 30 seconds start to finish with no prior knowledge of ham radios or call signs. Not that it was important but it is fun to learn new things
And yeah that's him

I earned my nickname at a Rams Horn my mom and I worked at. Im normally mild temperd but a cook had a sour way of talking to the ladys that worked there. Hoes and BI*&hs is no way to talk to a lady, so I went to talk to him outside about his conduct. Him being a large man thought I was a push over, needless to say with the ladys watchin, and the boss watching :(. He made a trip to the emergency room, and later the dentist.
But I do like the nickname and have it tattoed on my leg.

A Skunkabilly is a cross between a hillbilly and a skunk...DUH....

:scrutiny: I always just figured it was a play-on-words with "rockabilly."

Skunk, have you ever thought of bleaching a strip down the middle of your hair? My cousins used to do it a lot, but it would be sooo cooool if you did it. :D

I don't know if I've ever explained my name here...

Anyway, I used to always go by Kamikazi back in my BBS days. The proper spelling of kamikaze was always taken, hence the I on the end.

As the internet grew, I grew very tired of being kamikazi92, or kamikazi1995 or whatever, so I was looking around my room trying to come up with something on the fly for a new name, and I wanted something very unique to avoid having to ever throw numbers onto the end of it.
I had just finished reading Carl Sagan's Cosmos for the umpteenth time, so I figured, why not combine the two?

I was going to go with Cosmoskaze, which would mean Universe Wind. But that doesn't make much sense, and it doesn't roll off the tounge very well. So, I went with Kamicosmos, which means Divine Universe.

It sounds kinda budda-ish, doesn't it. I'm not religious at all, so I find it kind of ironic.

I used to be a fed in Germany...will most likely walk the beat again this autumn. Hence the nickname Trooper because I absolutely love my profession.

Right now I teach English at a private language school and my students have officially nicknamed me Mr. Pain... what a shame I already registered on THR :)

Regards,

Trooper

Stoney was my dad's nickname. I use it to honor the most important influence in my life, and a better man then I can hope to be.

Couldn't use Barkley as I do on other sites since it was taken. That's the name of my Bassett hound, who has been my friend and companion for 13 years now. I'm using Chewie because my wife gave me the nickname when she first meet me. She got it from the Star Wars critter, enough said.

Already had the name from the S&W forum. Something to do with my favorite gun the week I signed up on that forum. And it's shorter than Model25RoundbuttedandCutDownto4"Fan.

Been lurking quite a while and this seemed an appropriate thread to start.
I am a fan of Terry Pratchett and Sam Vimes is one of my favourite characters, especially after reading The Night Watch.

:neener:

I use it everywhere I go on the Net...one of these days I might think up a more original moniker....maybe something bike related

In other forums, I seem to have the ability to shut down threads. Not because what I post is profound or insightful, I just have a knack for killing threads.

Maybe it's a timing issue. I get in late when the thread has already lost steam and the topic has been already been hashed out. Then perhaps fellow posters note my presence and know the thread has truly run its course. They no longer bother.

Then again, maybe I just like the nick.

I was born and raised in the Commonwealth of Virginia and my family dates back to the founding of Jamestown. So, I decided to pay homage to our Great Seal. Virtus is the Roman Goddess in Amazonian garb standing victorious over the defeated image of tyranny. She represents the virtues of heroism, righteousness, freedom, and valor.
