What's the Highest Quality Pocket Pistol?

Thanks for the responses. I went with a used NAA Guardian (.32) with a very, very good action job and Gutter Snipe Sites. I like the Rohrbaugh a lot, but I'm not yet ready to make that investment. Might trade my Kahr P9 plus cash for one one day.

Based only on the criteria of quality, I agree totally with the comments on the Colt 1903/1908. Second place winner would go to the pre-WWII Walther PP.

azreal ; Is that green sauce a tomatillo salsa? Maybe mole? (accent over "e") My guess is tomatillo.

Ok I'm from the east but the best "quesadilla" I ever had was made with shrimp and caribe spices. Any Mex and SW food is perfect for me.

Uh oh, off topic, My Mustang feels like a boat anchor in my pocket. Looking for smaller nine mm. R9 is way 'spensive

BOB

Bob,
I agree...It would almost have to be a tomatillo sauce..

ON TOPIC! :D
IF the Rohrbaugh is to "spensive" for you, try the Kahr PM9...Or the KT P-11...I have the KT and love it!!!

Another vote for the Colt 1903

Now that's a beautiful "pocket pistol"

a NIB quality specimen is a thing to behold..

I'vw got one, and it ain't for sale!!!:)

Hope you haven't seen this pic too many times. :)
Only complaint about these guys is that they're a PITA to detail strip.

Kahr PM9 9mm is smaller, lighter than

the old Colt .32's,and 380's, and 5x as powerful as the .32, and 3-4x as powerful as the 380,and you dont have to waste $300 having a smith add visible sights and a workable safety to the Kahr, either. :)

Sometimes more is less. I'd rather have a Colt 1903 than the technically better Kahr. The Kahr is a tool, the Colt is a collector piece, an heirloom.

I have not shot the Rohrburg but I have handled and examined the gun at "The Long Island Shooting Center" and found the workmanship to be excellent as fart as I can judge.

Sorry, couldn't resist :D

(see, sometimes typos can be fun)

Oh, I have a Tomcat but I don't use it much so I couldn't really tell you about it.

I don't think you will find a gun to surpass the postwar Belgian Browning 10-55 380's. Don't say that the early Colt's or others don't equal them, though

I had two, one as new in box and unfired. The other I used to qualify with for a CCW. Didn't feel comfortable carrying cocked and locked with a striker firing mechanism and no firing pin lock, despite the grip safety. The thumb safety was hard to engage but would disengage with a hard look. It hurt to sell them off, but I'm much more comfortable carrying one of the CZ83's I bought either DA or cocked and locked.

I have one of Beretta's M21A like DT mentioned.Nice little gun. I haven't shot it very much and so far I'm not real impressed with it's reliability. After 25-30 rounds it constantly jams. I brush out the chamber and it's good for more shots. Keeping the slide lubricated is a must.It doesn't have an extractor so it must be kept clean and lubricated to function properly.

Ruger Redhawk

Ruger,
I used to own one of those Beretta M21. My experience is like yours. The chamber gets dirty fast and then it jams. They should've designed it with extractor. From time to time, I still catch my self staring at one. My favorite gunshop has one right now for $140, very good condition...but....Naaah!

I'd have to go with my Kahr PM9

not special or collectible but as dependable and as accurate as I could ask for

What type of pants are most of you wearing to have a Kahr pm9 in the pocket??????? I am a jeans and t-shirt guy and see no way possible to fit that in my pocket. NAA guardian maybe but the Kahr :what:

For a pocket? J-frame stainless .38spl (or .357 if you're into pain) hammerless revolver. With a nice set of Crimson Trace lasergrips if you've got the budget. Something like the Taurus 650 (or 850) CIA or S&W 642.
