What's the last thing you bought at a gun show?

I went to a little show in Butler,Pa. yesterday and didn't buy anything. This is unusual for Me to come home empty handed. The show Kevinch is speaking about in mid.Jan. will no doubt have something I really need. That's the PGCA show in Monroeville,Pa.Expo Mart.

Kevinch, twelve years of shopping and You had to buy that Ruger out from under Me!LOL.I hope it still shoots as well as You said it did.tom.;)

powder, primers, bullets. some loaded ammo. knicks and knacks. and an autographed book when Randy Weaver was
there. and jerky, yep, and jerky.

The only guns I ever bought at a gunshow were a .22 revolver and a Kel-Tec P40. Both were bought before I discovered TFL or I would never have dropped the money on either.

I'll sure miss TFL, but I'm glad THR has opened and it will be just as good or better :D

I'm kind of "over it" regarding the gunshows in my area, since they are in most cases more like an "accessory and militaria show". Oh, the guns are there too, but priced to attract only the mindless and drain-bamaged.

That said, I did get a black "Tactical" grip for my snubbie (proud of me, skunky? :p ), some 'smithing files, a couple boxes of Speer Gold Dots in .38 +P.
And jerky.

At the last one I went to all I bought was a breakfast burrito and a Dr Pepper, everything else including the jerky was too expensive.

The one before that I picked up about 500 rounds for my .45 at about $8 per 50. The actually shot pretty good and clean for being cheap rounds.

Last Show?

Round these parts, last show (Parkville 12-21/22) was small and had way overpriced stuff. I don't mind paying a little more to help keep local shops in business-but $18 for a used metric FAL magazine!?!

Show before that (Upper Marlboro ?) made out well on .308 Federal Gold Match BTHP and some used shooting rests.

Really hit or miss in this socialist state.

Tell you what tom - I really don't have the money to buy any guns at this one, so I'll look you up if I'm tempted & let you do the buying this time! :D

some Georgia Arms 44 Special, a cleaning brush, Pachmyr (sp) grips for an old S&W 459 and the best hotdog and fries that I've had in years.

Last thing I bought was $10 of WWII replacement cork canteen cap gaskets. At a quarter apiece, that's 40.

:)

Don't recall if we've met, but I'm in Philly too. Did we talk about the show at the National Guard Armory on Rt1? Maybe in the last moments of TFL?

It will be there in January.

The Jerky must have gone to my head, because I spent an inordinate amount of time looking at a leather Russian tanker helmet.

Would have looked cool on my mantle I guess.

Bought some cleaning patches, looked at a bunch of guns. Drooled. Decided I couldn't afford what I wanted. Found a Colt Magnum Carry. Went back, looked at it twice.

Ended up buying it from the Dealer's shop two weeks later.

I think the last gun I actually bought AT a gun show was a Cabela's 1860 Colt "outlaw" with fluted cylinders. Neat piece.

Alright, somebody PLEASE get John McCain on the phone and find out what is being done to close the "Jerky" loophole.

It sure seems obvious that what's mostly NOT being sold at gun shows- is guns.:D :D

2Dogs- I don't believe that we have met.. Unless you have been to one of the 2 south jersey shoots at the Buckeye gun club in the pines .. we have not met:)

Did you go to allentown?

Frank

No, I thought we might have, but my mistake.

No, didn't go to Allentown show, will be going down here though (Philly) at the end of January.

Would that be Pine Barrens?
