I just picked up a S&W 4006 and it's a great gun. Before that, I picked up a Glock 22 and a Ruger GP100 and they're also great guns. All have been police trades.

What other police trade guns do you think may be dumped on the market soon?

Glocks... LEO Glocks are constantly being replaced.

Israeli BHPs have recently been imported.

I am currently seeing

a lot of Beretta 92s/96s advertised a police trade ins. Also, I have seen quite a few Sig police trade ins in the last several months. As the new variations of any gun comes out, that gives a perceived advantage over the old model, Law enforcement agencies will replace their old stock with new models. The third gen S&Ws were a great buy for a long time. I am sad they are drying up.

There are small batches of LEO pistols being sold everywhere all the time. You just have to look around and be ready to snap one up when the opportunity presents itself.

I didn't know the M&P had been out long enough to be traded in yet...I'll keep an eye out as I'm looking for a pair for competition

Yeah too bad they will all be in 40 S&W which is not my caliber of choice.

Glocks, Glocks and more Glocks. Gonna see alot of gen3's coming out. Model 22's up the wazoo.

I saw some M&P trade ins at a gun shop in Indiana over a year ago. Don't remember the caliber, but they were just over $400.
Too bad I didn't have the money or live in Indiana.
I've seen several Glock 21's in my area in Illinois lately. Been thinking about picking one up sometime.

Small batches of Generation 3 Smith and Wesson guns are showing up.

Saw a few rode-hard-put-away-wet Beretta 92's.

Smith and Wesson is literally GIVING police departments their M&P's in even-steven exchanges for the departments' old Glocks. Kind of tells you how desperate S&W is to get their plastic-fantastic product on the street.

If they can afford to do it then its smart. IHMO. Glock one the LEO market on price point. It is going to take price point to get it back.

Same here. Local shop has them with the Penn State Police logo on the side. Lots of holster wear but far from shot out.

Cincinnati PD shoots the M&P9, and has for nearly five years. Perhaps those guns will be up for replacement soon. I have it on good authority that officers get first crack, and the bulk go back to S&W for exchange.
