With the year almost over, I realized I bought more guns than I thought. Yeah, how did that happen.....lol.
Funny how all the sudden the gun closet I built is getting pretty cramped. I decided to upgrade my carry gun {s}
Past 5 years I've been mainly carrying a police trade S&W 4006 or a Taurus PT709. While I like the 4006, the weight was starting to get to me. The Taurus has been great for times when I need something small.

My whole premise was to upgrade to something of a little higher quality for the Taurus even though it's been stellar for being reliable. Second was replace the 4006 for something lighter. I still figured the 4006 would do well as a HD gun being the night sights and all.

BTW, all used guns.
Well, here's where I ended up:

Sig 229 9mm w\night sights
Sig 239 9mm w\night sights
S&W 3904 This was just something I stumbled on and had to have it @ $300.
S&W M&P9
And the biggest surprise for me,
Glock 42 {nice gun} Wife might end up with this one.

So what did you buy? And was there a specific reason?

Dillon RL550b, a LOT of reloading components for .308, 6.8 SPC and 9mm
a lot of other ammo (shotgun, 9mm, 5.56)
Benelli M2 tricked out for 3-gun comps
Got to take possession of 2 suppressors (bought in 2013)

It's been a good year. Now to start getting serious about reloading and actually developing some serious skills...

In 2014? We bought a Glock 42 because we finally found my Wife's Soul Mate CC pistol and I bought dies and bullets and started reloading .380. I bought 2 Colt Pocket Hammerless pistols in .32 because they had attributes that will work well with some custom projects I have in mind...one built in 1919 and one built in 1924. I sent the 1924 built pistol out for a rebuild and hard chrome along with a "street Tune" for CCL.

Bought High Noon holsters for my G26 and Px4 SC and a Wilderness Tactical Frequent Flyer belt to support them. Bought a bunch of bullets in .357.....110 gr. wadcutters for reloading and primers and dies for .357 magnum.

Finally, I bought a new Beretta Pico 'cause I have wanted one for 2 years and Beretta finaly released the pistol for purchase. Don't regret anything I bought in 2014 but 2015 will be sparse for new gun stuff. The company I work for continues to suffer and decline since the 2009 economic disaster and my hours have been cut and my job is on the line. So, extra spending is out of the question.

If it gets resolved I'll be having me some professional training in 2015. :)

VooDoo

Just from memory:

Glock G42
CZ SP01 Shadow
EAA Thor 44mag
Bond Arms Backup 45acp
S&W M&P CORE 40S&W
S&W 3" 460 mag

Thousands of bullets and several pounds of powder. Probably a few thousand primers. I keep records on the firearm purchases but not the supplies. Too complicated.

Single shot H&R .22 for my son
M&P 45
About 5 pounds of smokeless powders
Bought and traded for brass a lot of bullets(.223,9mm,45and30-06).

Bought and AR
Bought a Glock
Ammo came and went
Sold a Glock
Sold a Garand

All Smith & Wesson revolvers:
M&P 38 Spl. 4” bbl. c. 1906
Hand Ejector, nickel, 32 long, 4.25” bbl. c. 1920
Mdl 10-5 38 Spl. 4” bbl. c. 1977
Mdl 19-3 357 Mag. 4” bbl. c. 1969
Mdl 19-2 357 Mag. 6” bbl. c. 1974
Mdl 28-2 357 Mag. 4” bbl. c. 1974
Mdl 37 nd, nickel, 38 Spl. 3” bbl c. 1977
Mdl 64-3 38 Spl. 4” bbl c. 1981
Mdl 66-1 357 Mag. 4” bbl. c. 1971

Geeze, did you really have to ask that question? But, at least now I know why I had to hit the savings account for Christmas shopping.

This year I bought nothing.
Hmmm--must do better next year.

Looking for a crossbow, an in line muzzle loader and perhaps a Ruger LC9S.
(Love my LC9 but hate the trigger)

Gun time....

In 2014; I purchased a LE trade in Glock 21 gen 04 with factory night sights: .45acp with 03 factory 13rd mags.
I also bought a no thumb safety M&P Shield 9x19mm. This little rascal was made 11/14/2014. :D
I also bought a Blackhawk SERPA Sportster left hand holster for the Shield.
I might get a Hodges Custom Kydex belt holster for the Glock 21 .45acp in 2015. I considered Hilman Holsters of OK but they are a tad pricey. Wright Leather Works is a good pick too but they take 8/10 weeks :( . The holsters aren't modular either like the Blackhawk SERPA.

I also broke down and got; a Otis Ripcord 9mm, a BoreSnake Viper .45acp, FrogLube CLP, defense & practice grade pistol ammunition.

In 2015 I might buy a new 12ga pump shotgun & maybe a few more handguns. A SIG 320, a Glock 23 .40, a Ruger LCR or S&W J frame.

Ruger Charger
Tactical Solutions Paclite upper
Walther P99
Vektor SP-1 Target
FN Five Seven
Keltec PMR-30
Steyr L9-A1

Ended up focusing more on some other stuff including knives this year.

S&W 3904 This was just something I stumbled on and had to have it @ $300.

I hate you. :neener: The 3906 is one of my Holy Grail pistols, specifically with the low-profile rear sight and uncurved trigger guard. But for $300 I would have bought it regardless.

This year I found a NIB Beretta 8045 for $450. The trigger is better than my well-work 92FS. Having previously owned a PX4 I can't say it was a worthy successor to the original Cougar, but I understand why Beretta discontinued the line.

Later, I got a used H&K USP Compact in 9x19mm. I paid almost $600, but I have not seen them for much less these days. Also, I already had the tactical light from years past, so I guess I can justify the extra cost if I tell myself I really need a mountable flashlight.

Browning 1911-22
Glock G41

I'm not a huge fan of the .380 acp but I keep hearing a G42 Glock calling me, may be in line as first gun purchase of 2015 :)

I revamped my safe this year and was basically on the "gun of the month club". HKs, Colt revolvers and a semi, Blackhawk and Colt SAA, .44 Special and .44 Magnum revolvers, Browning and Blaser rifles. Lots of good glass. And a Glock.

It was a prolific year. There have been plenty of years where I didn't buy 5 firearms.

  • Chinese (Sino-Soviet) SKS
    Savage Hog Hunter in .223
    New Vaquero (stainless, .357, 4 5/8")
    S&W 642
    Bulgarian commercial Makarov in .380

I'm feeling pretty satisfied right now. I feel that I could use a backup shotgun and sometimes I have a mousegun itch that I'll probably scratch eventually. Past that, I have nothing on my radar. I mostly just get ammo and accessories nowadays.

Just in the handgun category I bought:

S&W Shield
S&W 27-2
S&W 15-2
S&W 15-3
S&W 19-2
S&W M1899 Target
1913 Luger

Rifles:
Russian SKS (three)
British L1A1
Yugo M70AB2
Romanian AES-10B
1861 Springfield
1898 US Krag
Type 99 Arisaka
Colt SP1
Colt Sporter HBAR (pre ban)
XM177-E2
M16-E2 clone

Yes, I am pretty broke :)

Oh lawdy.... I probably have three of these left...

Beretta 391
Beretta 303
Beretta 390
Citori
CZ PCR
Walther PPK
Walther PPS
Ruger 345
XDm
BPS Trap
Sig 232

Space open for edits as I remember.

18 38/44 Heavy Duties and 38/44 Outdoorsman's. Of special note I picked up one of the three known 38/44 "Light Lug" Heavy Duty's.

1 Gov 380 stainless
1 Red-9 C-96 Mauser.

It was a good year for the 38/44 Collection.

Drumroll please......... I bought a HiPoint JHP 45 LOL I wanted something in 45 because I've never played with that round before. I wanted a range toy and with a under $200 price tag, I couldn't pass it up. The reviews online were good so I didn't worry about the name.

I figure it would make a nice cheapo to take on camping trips and maybe a new truck gun to replace my Rossi 38 special.

Merry Christmas!
