2014 is almost over, what did you buy?

Judgeholden,

The "light lug" was offered to me by a fellow collector who I have been badgering to buy it for years from. Every time I talked to him I reminded him that if he ever wanted to sell the "light lug" I would take it and the opportunity came up and I had the cash.

I wanted it because it is so rare. One of three effectively although there are 9 others possibly in existence.

As a 38/44 collector I am now in the process of improving the quality of my collectibles and looking for those really rare ones. I am missing for example a 45 Long Colt 38/44 Heavy duty (12 made, at least 3 known to exist). I am missing a light frame (Aluminum) 38/44 30 carbine (1 known to exist). And I don't have a humpback hammer 6.5" 38/44 HD.

So you can see It is just a game now of improving the 51 of them I have and adding to the collection.

Some day I will get some pictures done of the Light Lug so I can show it.

Thanks for the help Iggy. I hope to get up your way this summer again. Maybe the oil prices will improve and we can work in the states again.

Didn't realy buy a new one. I dropped off two pdog rifles to get rebarreled. One is going from a .17 Remington to a .222 and the other will stay the same,220 Swift AI. Still waiting, but it has to be soon.....

I got:

Two SKS rifles:

A Chinese Type 56 and a Yugo M59/66A1. I was on an SKS kick for a few months but haven't shot them in some time. I may sell them, or at least one of them.

Mosin Nagant M91/30: Can never have enough Mosins. This one has a nice bore, and is a good shooter. I do have some sticky bolt syndrome I need to take care of. Should get on that soon.

S&W Model 642 no-lock: My primary CCW gun. I just love it, and it goes everywhere with me. A real keeper.

A Cimarron Colt 1851 Navy: Love the gun, a real blast to shoot but I was having some issues with it. A personal crisis caused me to get rid of a lot of my black powder shooting supplies, so I need to work back up to getting the gun shooting again. Might take some time.

A Zastava M70A 9mm Tokarev: Bought it on a whim one night, always wanted a Tokarev and one in 9mm was appealing due to low ammo cost. I do like it, but have only shot it one time at the range. I know, shame on me.

A S&W Model 64 police trade in: Absolutely love this gun. Why did I wait so long to get a K-frame? Will definetaly see some intense shooting in coming years, especially since I'm going to start reloading .38 special soon.

Ruger GP100 4" half lug fixed sights: Bought to accompany by big ol 6" GP100. This gun is incredible, it's on my hip right now in a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake (also excellent).

That's all I can think of right now. 2015 will be less about getting more guns are more about doing more shooting/hunting, and reloading to facilitate this. :)

More than I can remember. My 2 favorite are a Freedom Arms 6" .41 magnum and a Marlin stainless trapper in .41 magnum. Both are NIB.

Until mid-September, I had turned my attention to other interests for the last three or so years. But I've been trying to make up for lost time since then. :D

^ Smart man! Reloading is where it's at, and I plan to do a whole mess of it in the year 2015!

Right after I buy my flying car, hoverboard, and self-lacing shoes that is!

I think I only bought one firearm this year, which is pitiful. I spent most of my fun money on hunting gear instead of firearms. My purchase was a Nosler M48 TGR in 300WSM. I'm very happy with it and it saw some action this year during several hunting seasons.

So zero handguns. Pitiful. May 2015 be a better year :)

Some gun parts/additions for my new guns and a few reloading supplies

Kahr CW380
Gen4 Glock 17
Gen4 Glock 35
Gen4 Glock 27
Ruger Blackhawk .41 Magnum
Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt/.45 ACP combo
Magnum Research BFR 454 7Casull 7.5"

And believe it or not once I stumbled upon some .22LR, no joke.

Let's see -
S&W Model 27-2
S&W Model 637
Winchester Model 70's in .257 Roberts (2011) and .375 H&H (1950)
Marlin 39D
I also inherited a Remington Model 31 in 12 gauge

Sold 2-3 guns this year too. This upcoming year will be optics, reloading supplies, .22LR and training. Maybe a SAA in there too.

I didn't buy much this year, it was all in the fun/plinker category. I bought a new Ruger 10-22 breakdown and a scope for it just because I'm a sucker for breakdown .22 rifles, and I picked up a Zastava M85 pistol. I also ordered an FN PS90, but I haven't received it yet.

Very cool. I figured there must be a story behind that, since that's such a rare handgun. You really ought to post some pictures some time. :)

Way too much, but it looks like it's not nearly as much as others on here...

Walther PPK (.380)
Walther P22 (.22)
Walther/Manurhin PP (.32)
Walther PPQ (9mm)
Remington 870 Express (12 ga)
Remington 11-87 (12 ga)
Beretta 84 Cheetah (.380)

And just sealed the deal on a Lee Enfield No. 1... might or might not take possession this year.
