Oldest Guns you have that you will/won't shoot

I have a double barrel 10 ga. that has a date 1864 the rifle has the name Continental on it, I've tried to find out about it at gun shows but to no luck. It's in NO shape to shoot, still would like to know some history on it but just too lazy to dig it out. Now my Winchester Model 72 .22 rifle has to be 80-90 years old and this rifle still shoots great and is dead on accurate w/o a scope. I know my dad pick it up at a pawn shop, I bet he didn't spend more than $20 for it, probably less.

I'm 57 and it was used when I received it for Christmas from my late parents when I was 12-13 years old(a very special rifle to me).

2 Iver Johnson single shot shotguns

I have 2 really old shotguns.
I have an Iver Johnson 410 single shot that dates to 1906. It's a family heirloom and has been in the family since it was purchased new that year.

I have another Iver Johnson 12 Ga. single shot. Dates to 1908. It was recently given to me by my mom's boyfriend.
His grandfather owned it for as long as can be remembered. He gave it to me, because it needed to be repaired and didn't work. I took it to my gunsmith. He just finished completely restoring it. It looks and feels like it must have, when it was purchased in 1908.
I gave my smithy another old shotgun for doing the restoration.

I'll be getting a Winchester 1885 Low Wall "Winder" Musket soon.
Mom's boyfriend really likes me.

I've got a Whitneyville Armory single action .22 revolver that my great grandpa carried as a back up gun when he was a cop in San Fransisco in the late 1800's early 1900's. It's missing a few parts, and the cylinder is a replacement one that was handmade, probably by him. My .22 rifle is a Remington Sport King from the 1950's.

The Springfield rifle my great great great grandpa carried in the Civil War is in a closet in my Grandparents house.

1903 Springfield made in 1905 according to records which would mean that it was converted to 30-06 I believe.

My Newest but oldest revolver

All but one of my revolvers are from the early 1970’s, yet my newest “old gun” is my 1972 S&W M-27. Story behind this, found it in the bottom shelf of the far back display case at my pistol range. Mentioned it to my wife who promptly reminded me that two weeks prier I had just bought a new car and had booked a “shack at the beach for 6 weeks this summer, so I put any thoughts of further handgun purchases on hold. Ten days later when I returned to the range the manager asked me if I would like to try shooting the M-27, which I thought was very nice but more than a little strange, when I declined he said well you are going to have to shoot it sooner than later. He then explained that the day I first saw it my wife had called the store and made arrangements to pay for it, all I had to do was fill out the paper work and enjoy it.

The oldest gun i own is an 1873 Winchester .44-.40 rifle. It was my grandfathers and when he passed he gave it to my father and in turn i now have it.
With all the guns i have that one is by far my most favorite and prized possession, with the exception of my wife an daughter of course.
And no i didn't say that under duress......LOL

1908 Parker VH 20 gauge

Inherited it from my dad, he bought it in the 50's and replaced the cracked stock with one he made from local birdseye maple. Maple stock makes the Parker collectors cringe, but I like it :D

I inherited a English Tower "brown bess" Flintlock dated 1754 that works. Also a 1850 E. Whitney Mississippi rifle that groups to 4" at 100 yds. Grandpa never said where he got them.

My oldest is either this Mosin-Nagant 1938 carbine (7.62 X 54R) from 1942.

Or this .45ACP Ballester-Molina 1911 knockoff. It was made sometime during or slightly after WWII. They had to stop when Colt had time to notice patent infringements again.

Mere puppies compared to some in this thread but I enjoy them.

My newest shotgun that I always use for trap is a 1949 auto-5. The guns I regularly go afield with are a 1920 Ithaca Flues, a 1934 Model 11, a 1928 Model 8 in .35 Remington, a 1915 Model 14 in .30 Remington, or .22s from the early teens-mid 50s. I haven't had the 1896 Marlin 1895 out for a while; I'm concerned about a chamber flaw -but I hunted with that when I was younger. Older guns are pretty interesting, and fun.

03 Springfield sporterized made in 1918 and rebarreled in 1944 by Smith Corona. Bought it last year and have only fired 12 rounds out of it. Being away from my guns sucks.

Oldest gun I currently have is a 1795 Eli Whitney contract musket made for the Continental Army, marked on the lock "E Whitney" but I did own a 1765 Charleville musket, however I sold that one about 30 years ago figuring I was going to collect only US martial arms. Wish now I had kept it.

The oldest one I currently have in my small collection is a Marlin 100G that I bought from a Navy chaplain. Nice little .22 single shot bolt gun that was made before serial numbers were mandatory. Accurate as hell too.

It's going to be a Tokarev that my father has had. He said he brought it back with him from the Korean war. I'll be picking it up next weekend.

1925 Mosin Nagant M91/30

And one odd French small revolver dated 1878 rim fire. Found in a boot of a German POW 1945 by my Dad. 78th Inf Div.
