Case is what I voted for.
I was born with a Case knife with CV blades and a Revolver in my dresser draw crib.
A Case is in my pocket as I type.

Case Chrome Vanadium blades, Shirley are you listening?
Forget the Tru-Sharp Surgical Steel crap, and make more knives with CV.
Let the Collecting bunch learn what a real damn blade steel is about, and learn to maintain it.

Boker is another Favorite, as is Hen & Rooster.

Again, Carbon Steel blades, with proper heat treat.

Too much damn hype and folks charging too much per inch per hype IME/IMO

I love peanut butter with jelly.
Peanut butter and honey lacks the viscosity to be eaten effectively.
:D

Whatever knife you choose though, make darn sure it's got the word 'Tactical' in large print somewhere. It holds an edge better that way.

Based on purchasing volume in the last year or so, it would have to be SOG. But I've bought two Spydercos in the last month or so and a couple SAKs. I have a litttle of many things, but no Benchmades.

I voted SOG because in camp,
my SOG seal pup is the knife that does everything:
cuts cord, rides back up to the .357 mag,
lays by the sleeping bag, does kitchen duty ...

In town, my EDC is a Benchmade Osborne.
I use it everyday. In camp, too, but less than the SOG.

So, what is my favorite knife brand?

I don't know; I'm so confused. :uhoh:

Bark River Knife & Tool for fixed blades.

High end Bucks and Spydercos for folders.

Randall, Kershaw, Benchmade... and Camillus, oh and "Au Lion"... don't forget them... knives are kinda like potatochips... you can't have just one, and seems you always find them in the cushions of the sofa....

Off-Brand

While I love my Kershaw 31xx series knives, and my old Gerbers, and my Bucks, I gotta say that my favorite is actually a TYPE of knife as opposed to a BRAND.

Marttiini and Jarvenpaa (Finland) make them, Frosts and Eriksson and EKA (Sweden) make them, Helle and Brusletto (Norway) make them. And Normark re-packages the Swede & Finn blades under their own brand.

They are variously known as Mora knives, Saami knives, Laplander knives, among others.

Also called "Scandinavian" knives/blades.

They are typified by a flat blade with a single bevel -- which becomes the edge -- where the bevel grind usually starts anywhere from 1/3 to 2/3 of the way down from the spine. Since there's only a primary bevel, the ground surface serves as a sharpening guide.

They are commonly made of one of three kinds of steel: high carbon, stainless, or laminated (hard center, milder outside). They're very robust and take a heck of an edge.

So, for me, my favorite is the Scandinavian knife.

emerson, chris reeve, benchmade, kershaw. also like al mar and strider although i dont own any. spyderco i only like their serrations.

In terms of design alone?

Dark Ops Knives, with their Interceptor E&E as a special mention. But they're ridiculously expensive.

Overall, I like Buck, specifically the Buck Nighthawk. $60, comfortable grip, almost effortless to manipulate, absolutely perfect balance. When there's a Buck Nighthawk around when I get bored, I find myself holding it (sheath still on... that part's important!) in a reverse grip with my index finger on the finger groove for the little finger, and just pulling back. The knife flips a full 360, and I catch it in the exact same position as it was before it flipped, without moving my hand at all (just closing my fingers around it as it completes the flip). It's also very sharp, and holds an edge pretty darned well. And for that price, by the time it loses its edge, you can actually afford to just buy a new one.

I also like knives by Takeshi Saji, and Kanetsune from Japan, purely for their artistic nature. I have a Takeshi Saji Yo****sune, which has a snakeskin covered grip and sheath. As I say to everyone when I bring this thing up: 'It's part Asian, part Texan, just like me!'

....The board censored that...... .....The censored part started with an s, and ended with a t, so you can figure out the name of the knife and look it up if you want.

My favorites are Striders and Grahams. A good sharp Emerson is great companion for some comfortable old blue jeans on a slow weekend.
