Whats your Favorite Snubbie Revolver and Why???

Gotta chime in for my Ruger SP101. Built like a TANK and ready to roll.

I DO want to add a contingency category: El Cheapos.
The Rossi snubs have never failed me, and have been at least as well-built as any Smith I've seen. YMMV.

Still have a burr in my saddle over Smith & Wesson's yellow-streaked sellout. Sorry.

Snubbie

S&W model 36. I have carried this since the 1970s (when social circumstances required it). I have never used it. It is light, totally reliable and readily concealable plus fun to play with at a range. Quantrill

My 649 is my most accurate snubnose, and the easiest one to shoot. It is my favorite snubby, as well as my usual carry gun.

686 snubby because I like the ability of the L frame to digest a steady diet of .357 loads.

I would have to say that my 686 Snub would be my favorite. It's my duty/everyday/nightstand gun, and it's the one I'm most comfortable with.

S&W 642. I might forget my wallet, watch, or wedding anniversary, but that Airweight .38 never gets left home ...:D

The Model 638.

The snag-free, shrouded hammer will allow you to shoot through your coat pocket or purse in an emergency.

You have the hammer, so you can safely perform a cylinder-rotation check.

The light weight doesn't sag down the pocket.

Another vote for the SP101, especially the DAO bobbed hammer version. Each of the small revolvers mentioned have their strong points and weak points, as does the Ruger, but the SP101 is, to me, the best overall combination. Add a set of Uncle Mike's boot grips and it's even better.

S & W 637----because it's the one I have----got it mainly for the compact size and very light weight.

The 60LS. Every time I handle one of this, I'm reminded how comfortable they are. Not sure if I could live with the 'Lady Smith' on the side but I could always say it was my wife's gun. :p

Don't own one,yet.
Favorite snubby would be an early 2-1/2 inch barrelled Colt Python. In a beautiful Royal Blue finish of course.
Of the snubbies I've owned and shot my second generation Colt Cobra currently holds first place. Compact, light, and indeed holds six.
Take Care

I've got a thing for N frame snubbies so i've to say 624 2.5" 44spl,625 3" 45acp and the 610 3" 10mm.I also like a 686 2.5" 357,65 3" 357 and most any J frame 38spl.

My favorite snub-nosed revolver is my Colt Detective Special. It fits my hand perfectly, has a glass-smooth double action pull and light, crisp single action pull, and is surprisingly accurate for a little gun.

I carry a (pre-agreement) Smith & Wesson model 60 because it's chambered for the .357 magnum rather than the .38 special—and anyway, it's stainless. It's a pretty good gun, but the double action stacks, and the single action pull isn't quite so crisp.

Ruger SP 101.

Mine has an EXCEPTIONAL single action trigger--it breaks like glass, and is at a reasonable weight. My SP 101's SA trigger is much better than my GP 100s's, and just as good as my S&W 686 Plus in terms of feel (i.e. it breaks like glass, no unnecessary movement)--although it is heavier than the S&W. I think I got lucky on this one, because every other DA Ruger I own has some overtravel in the SA trigger, and a slight amount of takeup. If my GP 100's and Single action Ruger revolvers had the out-of-the-box SA trigger as my SP 101, I'd be thrilled.

Other great things about my SP 101 include good accuracy (I can hit beer cans as far as 18 yards with no problem), and good recoil control up to .38 spl +P loadings. I've tried full powered .357 magnum in this gun, and it kicks like a mule, but considering its a 25 ounce snubby one can't expect it to handle full powered ammo like a full sized medium frame Ruger GP 100 does.

Its definitely the best snubby I've ever shot. All things considered, I prefer medium size and large revolvers though. Recoil control and long range handgun accuracy (past 25 yard accuracy) are much easier to achieve with a full sized revolver sporting a 4-6" barrel, IMO.
