What's your "never buy" gun?

A Beretta M92, that is unless I need a anchor for my boat. Why else would they put a lanyard on it but to tie a rope to it!

Lorcin, Jennings, Bersa, (although Bersa is much better imo than others on my list) Llama, High Point , Taurus (due to customer service), Sigma. And yes....I have owned all the guns on this list.

I have NOT owned all of the guns on this list. The High point 9mm was a loaner from a friend. He just wasn't that concerned with getting it back. IMO, it could have been a faulty mag. But whatever the problem...it wasn't dependable.

Somewhere in heaven, John Wayne is crying...
I still don't see the need for the Ruger New Mod. BH Convertable .45 ACP/LC 5 1/2"bbl I just traded for either. But the 5+ boxes of ammo I've shot up in the past few days sure has been fun. And if I should ever need to hit the target at a longer distance with the first shot, it would be the one I reach for. (As long as I remembered to reach for my wallet first in order to have the .45 LC.s)

BAR NONE A REMINGTON MODEL710,715,770,if I was remington I'd commit suicide before I'd put my name on that piece of junk.Like one person said it's the best door stop rem. ever made I'am not even sure it's qualified for that job...:)
I let a Mod 870 Wingmaster with the interchangeable barrels get away from me in the mid 80's. Have kicked myself dozens of times since. I've heard a lot lately about how much Rem. quality has declined. But I guess the same can be said for a lot of firearms. It could be that the new S&W revolvers are of higher quality. I ain't drinking the kool aid. I'll take my old Cheif's Spec. and Mod. 14 any day over the poly & allow overpriced throwaways. I must be getting old.

I feel compelled to defend Ruger. I have a Mark II bull barrel .22 and have fired thousands of rounds without a jam. Accurate, reliable and cheap to shoot. I also have a Ruger Security Six .357 that has been a very good gun. Oh yeah, also two mini-14s that are just about the most fun I've had shooting every time I've picked them up.

What gun would I not buy? Not really a collector, so anything in that realm or a rare caliber. Not looking for anything I can't afford to shoot. My guns are .22, .45, .357, .223. Common stuff.
I've been shooting my old Ruger .357 mag. Security Six (1772 mod.) regularly for about 2 years now without a single problem. It's one of my favorites. Almost bought another one last week for $325 but it hadn't been treated very well at all. Some surface rust showing and was in real need of a bluing job. Also didn't have original grips.

Mike Honcho - Didn't know that about Kahr.

Thank you.

Wikipedia check verifies that.
Hadn't really planned on buying another Kahr anyway. I made what most people would call a stupid trade. My Kahr CW40 for a Ruger BH New mod. .45/.45LC Convertable. OK, so I'm down one CCW. But I couldn't hit anything with it anyway, so what good was it to me? The Kahr was one of those impulse buys I regretted almost as soon as I walked out the door with it.

I realize Taurus revolvers can sometimes be crap. But Ive owned several Taurus autos and have NEVER had an issue.
a 24/7 Pro is usually my choice for a daily carry.
I have a Taurus PT 24/7 Pro C. 9mm. And contrary to what another poster stated, I have kept track of almost every round I have personally fired. (I have 23 of the empty boxes). One round failed to feed properly because of a faulty casing and I've had some failure to fire rounds. My only complaint is that the front site fell off after about 50 rounds of non stop loading and firing. My experiance with Taurus' Customer Service with a Mod. 65 SS .357 mag. was terrible, so I doubt if I buy another. But I have to brag a bit on the 24/7. Accurate, and dependable imo.

Those are excellent – and refreshing - choices for a new gun owner, well done and enjoy.
Probably just people who have never fired them. Caliber bashing is imo a waste of time. I'll not go into the very long list of friends and relatives I have lost in this country due to guns. (Correction....idiots with guns) And guess what caliber was used most in these murders/killings? The .22short & .22LR. IT"S SHOT PLACEMENT!! Sure, I carry a larger caliber .45acp & .38 spec. bug. I just think sometimes people worry about "how big it is," when they should be more concerned with, "where's this round headed once it goes bang." Practice is more important than size. OK.....I'll shut up now. Sorry.

Llama...one of the prettiest hunks of wasted metal I ever owned. I do remember getting through 2 mags in the same day without a jam. Beautiful day. The sun reflecting off the half open superbly plated slide was truly awe inspiring.

Never Buy

Polizei: You're kinda acting like what I like to call, MEAN!
Why don't you challenge OLD Miculek(sp) to a duel? Bet you'd show him!:D

I don't get all the hate for Kel-Tec. I've owned an SU-16 for a while now and I freaking love it!

If price was indicative of quality, then nobody would ever have a problem with their Kimbers, right?

The 2003 Kimber Pro 10 II, and the Taurus 24/7 Pro C have been nothing but dependable for me so far. Of course I still have the minor problem of replacing the front site of the Taurus and have yet to find a suitable shoulder holster for the Kimber.

anything from a guy wearing a blue or red bandanna on him...

other than that I'd buy any gun 4 the right price..

Almost got a S&W 500 for free. I wouldn't buy one but if anyone wants to give me a gun I'll gladly accept it.

I would probably not buy a gun that had ammo that was difficult to find. Lack of sources is the main reason why I probably won't buy a .380. Even though it's "easier" to find still the same cost as 9mm in my area if you can find it.

Once I get the ball and chain locked into place, there's alot of guns I won't buy or rather get to add to my collection.

Any beretta.
99% of the revolvers.
99% of the nineteen elevens.
Any gun with wood on it.

Probably a few others I can't think of.

I'm curious about just the opposite. What would you never actually purchase, except maybe to turn around and sell to some dumb sucker for a nice profit? You might hate the company (H&K). You might see the gun as an impractical gimmick (Desert Eagle), you might dislike some politically/legally-mandated design features (Ruger Mk.III) or maybe just think the thing is a useless antique (1911 (just kidding please don't kill me)). Whatever. What would you never get for yourself, and why?

I'm just not into selling lemons which is what a gun I bought that I didn't like would have to be. Minor gripes, I'd change it, major flaws, I would not be able to sell in good conscious. Of course, I've never sold a gun, I'm an accumulator. I've bought mistakes, they stay with me. Good choices, well from my cold dead hand :D

Clutch

Weatherby rifles. Life's too short for ugly guns. Probably wouldn't buy another Mauser Broomhandle (literally fell apart with every shot) and was glad to sell a Rem 721 (30-06) that weighed 721 lbs.

Haven't read all 824 posts, but wonder how much has changed since this thread was started. As for the haters, I have a Ruger Mark II, bull barrel that's shot thousands of rounds into small holes, a 10/22 (the same), 2 Taurus revolvers that are reliable and fun to shoot and my Nagant revolver is unwieldy, but also fun to shoot. Savage? I'll never, ever give up my first firearm, a Savage Mdl 24 .22/410 (Stoeger Arms, 1956, $24.95 + $5 shipping...by mail), and I've always regretted selling a Savage Mdl 99 in 300 Savage.

But that's another thread.....
