I'm shocked tha management has not closed and locked this thread.
Cokeman, I think I'm in love. How well does she shoot? What is she chambered for?
Bill Ruger said no honest man needs a mag that holds more than ten shots and cooperated with Clinton to put the high cap mag ban in. No way do his guns ever get in my hands.
Got a reasonable collection already. Not sure at all that I would rate anything "never buy". Can't always tell what will "scratch your itch" in the future.Post inspired by this here thread:

I'm curious about just the opposite. What would you never actually purchase, except maybe to turn around and sell to some dumb sucker for a nice profit? You might hate the company (H&K). You might see the gun as an impractical gimmick (Desert Eagle), you might dislike some politically/legally-mandated design features (Ruger Mk.III) or maybe just think the thing is a useless antique (1911 (just kidding please don't kill me)). Whatever. What would you never get for yourself, and why?
My choice would be one of those short-barrelled S&W X-frames. The muzzle blast of a snubnose .357 is quite enough for me, thank you. I know it's not exactly a linear comparison (my .44 Mag for instance is a pleasure to shoot while the .357 is a pain, almost literally) but still. Snubby .460 or .500? NO.
Won't buy a Kahr, High Point, Taurus or any featherweight snubby. I do wonder why so much hate on Ruger....I own 5 Rugers....2 long guns, and 3 revolvers. My 28ga. Red Label had a firing pin spring problem....they had it two weeks...sent it back working better than it ever did...my .44 SBH had a barrel that was put in slighly cocked...had it a week...put in new barrel, new cylinder...etc..Best customer service I have ever dealt with....and I own two Glocks...G19 and G20...NEVER a problem...
30-06 of any kind! I have seen to much game lost to that caliber.
Machine gun pistols! Not my thing but to each their own that's why we have a second amendment!
Every gun owner should know Ruger's position on magazines.I think a significant issue with many people when it comes to Rugers was Bill Ruger's letter to Congress in 1989:
"The best way to address the firepower concern is therefore not to try to outlaw or license many millions of older and perfectly legitimate firearms (which would be a licensing effort of staggering proportions) but to prohibit the possession of high capacity magazines. By a simple, complete and unequivocal ban on large capacity magazines, all the difficulty of defining 'assault rifle' and 'semi-automatic rifles' is eliminated. The large capacity magazine itself, separate or attached to the firearm, becomes the prohibited item. A single amendment to Federal firearms laws could effectively implement these objectives."
To say he thoroughly ****ed off a huge segment of firearms owners would be putting it mildly. And his influence on SAMMI for this same issue wasn't much appreciated, either.
There are still people today who won't buy a Ruger product because of this. Not even on of their (few) weapons which have large capacity magazines.
