The lyman 452460 is another option or the 452488 (130 clone). The 452460 uses a 1.160" OAL. The 452448 uses a 1.20" OAL.
You might try making up dummy rounds using the H&G68 and seating them to those OAL's Then do test runs seeing if they will feed/hand cycle.
Odd you couldn't get the 68 to feed, couldn't even begin to count how many 1911's I've owned over the decades. Every 1 of them ran 100% using the h&g 68's using the standard 1.250" OAL & a .468/.469" taper crimp
Assuming it runs fine with something, one of the first things I do if a 1911 doesn’t want to feed a particular profile bullet, in a round that will “plunk” and pass a case gauge, is try another brand of magazine. Once they will feed and chamber an empty case bullet profile/seating depth doesn’t seem as important.
It’s not uncommon for one to function better with a particular brand, as they are slightly different. It only takes a minute and looks something like this.
No that is the primary issue. I can breach load one and the rest will cycle. I ran seating depth tests from 1.267 till the bullet shank was flush with the case at 1.220 ish in 10ths steps. Will it feed/chamber an empty case with your pistol from slide lock?
I needed a second and it's great for every other thing I load so it's not going anywhere.Don’t chunk those Cobra mags, next 1911 you get might love them, lots do.
