i know about marlin being owned by remington now, BUT, the question is, when will marlins be available again? Will they be advertised by remington? Will they retain their quality? will remington be keeping the whole marlin line or just certain guns? (im interested in the 1894c in .357) I talked to a local gun shop owner (a marlin dealer) and he said that ever since he heard the news of marlin being sold he hasn't delt or heard anything from them... thanks in advance!

When you look at a Marlin on the rack... look at the barrel where it meets the receiver.
If it has a JM stamp... its a Marlin.
If it has a REP stamp... its a remington.
Remington has been screwing the pooch on building marlins.
Extra dovetails cut in barrels, horrible wood to metal finish, barrels so misaligned they wont get on paper with a scope, tooling marks that look like a monkey with a file worked on it.
Look it over VERY carefully before you buy, then still be prepared to send it back to get it made right.
Look on www.marlinowners.com and do some reading.
