I live in TN...all of the local shops including Gander Mountain...are having a hard time getting Glocks in 9mm...is this a nation wide problem...one shop has not had a new 19 since December of last year...every now and then a 17 or 26 will pop up...does the shops in your area have this problem also...

Supply and demand.

GLOCK 9mm models are known as ultra-reliable and not too expensive, and 9mm is the cheapest centerfire pistol round, so lots of new shooters are getting into the game with a GLOCK. Since GLOCK probably hasn't been able to increase commercial production too much, due to LEO and other contracts, you will see shortages of the more popular models.

the only glocks that i see on the shelfs as of late have been factiry refurb's. i heard that glock was behind on production, and i belive it.

especially the 19

I live near Little Rock,AR. I frequently go out looking just to window shop and the 19 is theh ardest to come by.I can find 17 and the same guy had a 19,but it sold quickly(even though it came with glock's crappy adjustable sights.but, last time I checked his 17 was still there.

80,000 Glocks behind?! Lordy sakes...didn't think I'd bought quite that many! Maybe we should have a one-per-month rule? Nope, that'd take me 6,666 years to have bought them all. Maybe Tupper Ware is cranking out too many bowls this year...using all the plastic. :neener:

Yeah...Doc got cho Glock! :D

Our local Gander mountain always has 3 or 4 in .40, but I've never seen one in 9mm since they opened last year.

Same thing in my observations; you can find Glocks in .357 SIG, .40 S&W, 10mm., and .45 ACP but precious few in 9mm.

I see some pop up on local classifieds... www.ksl.com
Beyond that, I would take your search to the internet. Also, if you can't find the Glock you want, there are some good alternatives like S&W's M&P line, or the Springfield XD line, Ruger's SR9 line, or even SIG's P250 line.

I love my Glocks, but I wouldn't hesitate to carry any of those other options either.

Probably because Vets like me are getting a discount from Glock. I love the G-19 and I love the fact that Glock gives military retirees discounts. Go Gaston.

Dealer here in N Texas has plenty, all sizes, all colors. Haven't heard anything about a shortage around here.

Several distributors are out, or were a few weeks ago. They are still in stock at some places.

Much like the panic on ARs and AKs, 9mm Glocks and their 15-17+ rounds magazines saw a pretty sharp increase in sales after the election. They are well known, reliable, and relatively inexpensive compared to other "hi-capacity" 9mms, so I think a lot of people turned to them when the fear of 10+ magazine restrictions came back into the picture.

I have had several emails and phone calls from people in the past few months who want to buy their first gun, and most of them want a Glock 19 or an AR-15.

Sales are up

Sales on firearms in general are up 600% since last November. Yes, Glock is behind and so is everyone else. We have a shop in Macon that has had NO firearms for sale 2 times since last November. And they generally have a stock of 300 to 400 firearms at any given time.
