I was born in San Francisco...grew up in Colorado. Spent some time in Northern California :barf: and So. Cal :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf:
Live in rural washington now. It's gun friendly. People are very pro-gun and anti big government here. It's nice. Lots of places to shoot.

Well, NY, NY is near LI --- but it ain't even close! :D

See, in NY, NY a BB gun is illegal. At least here on LI, after paying a few hundred bucks for licenses and prints and waiting and waiting, well, you finally get a constitutional chunk of citizenship.

While there are a few other "sensible" folks here, sometimes I feel ... like ......... I'm ............................ very .......................................... alone ......................................................... here ... :D

bay area Ca

I live in the east bay, in alameda county so if you live here you know how bad the gun laws are. My wife and I have lots of friends here, I was born in the bay area but I do think of moving. Not sure where - ID, WA, CO, NV.

Gun shop - Reeds in San Jose
Ranges - Chabot in San Leandro = outside, and Reed's range in Santa Clara - inside.

Spring/Woodlands (north side of Houston). Favorite gun store AND shooting range: Carter's Country (north location). Will be on the range tomorrow morning working on trigger control with Marvel Unit 1 conversion on Wilson Classic pistol.

Good shooting and be safe.

Don't think any you know... But, here it goes.. I live on the U.S. territory of Guam. 3hrs from japan 7hrs from Hawaii and another 7hrs or so, from the west coast. we have No ban here, no waiting period for pistols/rifles. you could buy as much as you want.. I have my CCW and we have a population of 160,000 plus. est. amount of firearms servey few yrs ago,was is like seven firearms for every household. From what I herd in the 80's it ways way much better then now. I was still in pampers and living in FL.:banghead:

Here is the crappy part ,wich blows. You have to register your firearms, FFL Dealers charge anywhere from $50 to $ 75 bucks for a FFL! there are like three gun shops here.. I use there FFL instead and order off island:neener: there price's are unherd of. and you would not believe me if I told you the price's there are asking.. big joke for the gun community here... I order all my stuff from the states. and my neighbor has a collection to envy for! Hk's,Aug's, Sig 550's:(

other then that it's all gravy, all range's are all private land. I go to one up in the mountains. fired dept. MP5's and such at times when I'm lucky:) esta laters! DT!

Location

Dutchess County NY

The gun climate here is fairly good. There are many large estates and the majority of the area is still rural. The county sherriff is reaqsonable about granting full carry permits. We have some of the moer progun celebrities living here and exercising their rights. Unfortunately, we also have some of the others..Round Rosie has a weekend home here from what I have been told.

There are 2 very exclusive gun club/hunting preserves with many NY City members. They raise and conduct duck, pheasant and whitetail hunts. Membership starts at 10K per year and dues run the same. The members are very anxious to retain their gun rights as they have large financial investments in the shooting sports.

Overall, I would say this county is gun friendly. We also do not have tornadoes, earthquakes hurricanes, alligators, scorpions, poisonous spiders or a great deal of illegal immigrants. The crime rate is one of the lowest in the nation and economic growth is continuing. This is a great refuge if you want to escape from NY City but still want to work there:)

Read right below my username. ;)

The town is gun friendly. By the way its getting, there should be a sign when you enter town saying "If your not armed, you shouldn't enter this town":D

Only saw a few others from colorado. I live in the western part the nearest thing to a city is Grand Junction. We shoot out the back.Have a covered bench and backstops out to 400yd and plans to 600. Won't say my favorite store but will say you rarely walk in any that aren't waiting for instacheck with CBI,thats all day every day. Lots of guns around and friendly toward them.

Climate towards guns in Madison, WI is, for lack of a better phrase, absolutely and in all ways ridiculous.

Little while ago a guy got hit with a concealed weapon charge for carrying a nutcracker. No, that's not slang for anything. He was carrying a device with which one cracks the shells off of nuts.

Couldn't get my girlfriend a tazer, because electric weapons are illegal to carry here. A few months ago a girl was raped downtown who could have desperately used one. Yay hippie government.

Had to drive to the opposite end of town just to buy mace, and the shop that carried it only had two options for it. Keyring size pepper, and the OC/Pepper spray crossbreed with the UV dye in it that was the size of a soda can. Only the best for my girl.:)

Can't buy an affordably priced pistol, because they're so friggin' rare that there are two shops inside of a 30 minute drive that actually have them.

Madison is obscene. Never, ever come here.

Where in Dutchess County? I was born and raised in the East Fishkill.:neener:

i was living in kansas as of yesterday, but i am in the middle of a moe and will be in north carolina for a month and then onto georgia.

Kansas dosen't allow full auto, and i think that they also do not allow suppresors but i am not sure on that one. i do like the fact that you don't have to have a permit to buy a weapon though. they are finally comming around a little bit though and as of 1 january 2007 the ccw will be in effect, they finally passed it. to bad i am not there anymore. but i plan to get mine in n.c. anyway. my favorite gun shop i kansas is quantico tactical, they have great deals, and a military discount on top of that. they have allthe guns and gear you could want, blackhawk, spectar etc. lot of ar accesoories too.

i can't comment on georgia yet.

as far as n.c. they have the ccw and have had it that way for a while, but you do have to have a permit to buy a handgun. as far as i know the state is pretty gun friendly, and there isn't that you cna't have like full ayto, suppressores, etc, as long as you have the right bases covered of course.

Vegas, Baby!

Good gun climate. Shall issue state for CCW, you can carry concealed in your car without a CCW permit (with the exception of North Las Vegas). I buy my guns at The Gun Store, my favorite range is American Shooters Supply. I hope to be able to join Desert Sportsman's Club next year, as they have a very nice outdoor range. Clark County just broke ground last month on it's new public shooting range, which will be the largest public range in the country (And it's near my house-Yay!).

Other - Kansas City MO. The state of Missouri is relatively gun friendly (Brady D- rated), but KC the city (and the newspaper here) is generally a liberal bastion of anti-gun nuttiness.
