All of the above!
I will echo Gator and add this: Internet and if the item is C and R eligible, delivery to myself holding an FFL-03.
Same here. I did answer Internet for the poll. I've got more C&R firearms than modern ones, and the C&Rs were all bought over the internet. Only bought 1 modern at a gun show, and only 1 modern in a private transaction the rest were at brick and mortar.

I actually do all of the above. Last year one from a local dealer, two from the Internet delivered to a local FFL. The one from the CMP.

I've only purchased two guns, both from marine corps exchange. Although I'm currently looking everywhere to touch, my next purchase will be there also. They are able to order just about anything, with NO TAX:D

i like to support the local small gun shops and ecomnomy so i go mostly to gun shops, though i have done my fair share of buying from private transactions. the only thing i use the internet for is to check prices and use the prices that i get off there, to talk down the gun shop owners a little.

I've done all of the above, but the last one came from a show, so that's what I checked

I like to make my purchases at local retail stores. I have plenty of stores within 5 miles but I've recently discovered a gunshop about 15-20 miles away that has excellent prices and a huge inventory. I've bought my last two guns from them. For holsters and such I pretty much have to make my purchases online because i'm left handed and I can't find any good left handed holsters locally.

every where but online auction sites...

I have yet to find a single good deal on one, besides I like to actually touch the gun before I buy it.

The only guns I've ever bought online were C&R, and actually I ordered them on the phone. I don't think I've ever bought a gun through a private sale, but I have sold them that way.

Mostly it's local dealers. By the time I pay shipping and FFL fees for online, I don't see enough price advantage to make it worthwhile.

80% from online FFL auctions or online FFL classifieds

15% from nonFFL nongunshow individuals

5% from gunshows

0% from gunshops

Yes, price is a big concern.

I have a trusted gun dealer I buy from.

I have three of these. Two of them will order anything I want/need if they don't have it. The third will only do it if he feels HIS supplier has a good price. (He's only direct-from-factory for three gun companies)

i would have to say that most of my guns come from auction sites like gunbroker but i'm more interested in milsurps & sporters. there is a local gunshop i will buy from if i want anything that cant be got with my c&r, they actually have a good supply of milsurps but they're still to high for me but they are very nice people so i make up for the lack of gun sales with ammo & accessories, although they do have a very nice tigerstriped m95 i've been eyeballing & a couple nice swedes.

i've only had one bad experience on a internet gundeal. my payment was lost in the mail & instead of letting me send another the seller decided it would be better to be a prick & not get paid. it took close to 3 months to get a refund on my postal money order & the seller's business received a complaint to the bbb over his lack of customer service & arrogance

I generally buy at retail stores. I did pick up an FS2000 over the internet, but it was still a transfer between 2 retail stores.

Thanks to everybody that voted. Numbers aren't changing much, so probably has served it's purpose. Mods, feel free to shut this down if you'd like.

Gosh, kinda even between Gun Shows, Retail, and Private party. Never done FFL transfer.

90%++ from a storefront dealer but mostly used guns, in a collection numbering in 3 digits. I've never ordered a gun from the internet.

I have had a dealer order me a gun that he/she didn't stock but thats different, they quoted me a price and I accepted.

Only less than 10 gun show purchases I think. Private deals here and there. I have met local people on the internet though to do a private deal.

Why is there no way to select ALL of those choices?
I make my purchases from local shops, at gun shows, face-to-face from individuals, and through the internet. In the past couple of months I have bought from all four options. I currently have one gun on layaway at a local shop, another I just won on an internet auction, and picked another up yesterday from a face-to-face sale. I like having options.
Unfortunately, our local gun show dude left town with all the money and the wonderful "PRO Gun Show" is currently not an option for us here.

The only one I have not used is the internet. The last rifle I bought was hanging in the rack in the back window of a pickup truck in the newspaper office parking lot. he and I were both going in to place ads, mine to sell some machinery, his to sell the rifle I bought from him.

I find it cheaper for me to order it off island. Shops here have unheard of prices for firearms. that goes for ammo also.

I like to support my local economy as much as possible. Since gun related purchases are the majority of my discretionary income I try to procure locally. If I can't, then I go to the net. I have gone to gun shows for years, I usually don't spend more than admission and parking.
