Where to Hide Guns?

Americans don't hide from tyranny. I think hiding would only take place if outright resistance didn't work. But gun laws already take this into account. Most restrictions are on new manufacture, not confiscations of existing arms.

Guns? I don't have any guns. Just this floor lamp that I'm holding. Why yes officer, it does look remarkably like an assault rifle. Now, you fellas can move along or I can pull on this here trigger looking thingy and find out whether its a rifle or a lamp. Your choice.

I sold all mine to scrat. He was real persistent, "wonderin' if I had anythin' else ta sell 'em." Never did explain to me why all the new US Dollars had that monopoly guy on it.

How about standing inside your front door, and resisting their entry? Give fair warning to the first person attempting to enter, and have a cell phone ready to call the N.R.A. legislative branch to let them know who you are, what's about to happen, & that you're about to make a stand for your God-given rights. This scenario of hiding your guns is an entertaining game, but governments have been taking weapons away from law-abiding citizens for a long time without much mention of resistance from the owners. What we need to do is get together and make some sort of planned procedure of what we MUST do if this "hypothetical situation" comes to us.

Translated: I am about to be stupid, and I want the NRA to be legally culpable.

I don't think it'd be too hard to hide things so they'd remain hidden, if a nationwide gun-ban situation is what concerns you. If the total police power descends on you and you alone, you won't be able to hide anything, they could dismember your house if they had to and x-ray the ground etc. If it's a nationwide ban /confiscation thing, they won't have the manpower to look inside and under everything to the same level of detail.

I'd be more worried about what happens after they search and miss whatever didn't get turned in. If you think the self-defense laws are difficult now (getting charged with something after a self-defense shooting) think about it after one of these gun ban situations. Would kind of take the satisfaction out of stopping a home invasion with hot lead.

Just thinking about gun ban kinds of stuff gets me all upset, but I don't think about it all that much. I think the political tide and momentum is on our side, and spending mental energy worrying such a draconian ban/confiscation is less useful than writing emails and letters to my reps concerning Heller vs DC and other 2A issues in my state.

One of the problems that I see is that the first guy (maybe the first hundred) that tries to resist is going to die, who wants to be that guy?

In NOLA it appears that the cops and the army came in overwhelming force against one home owner at a time. No one really had time to react.

There's no way of knowing what would have happened had 20 or so people banded together and made it clear that they were prepared to resist. One thing that does seem certain to me is that sooner or later ( I think sooner) somebody's going to start shooting back. Then everything is going to change

what da

how many of you guys sold me your guns. next your going to think im a gun lord. what was that movie. gun lord, lord of war, i dont know

way before i buried anything i would sell it all to help finance a second amendment defense fund.but since you asked, learn basic carpentry and hide them in the wet wall of your house(kitchen/bathroom plumbing.)metal detecters would not work, they would have to use x-rays.personally,i do not see it happening.getting the sheeple frightened enough about ebr's to pass legislation is alot harder now that their scared of nutcases running around trying to blow up dirty bombs, highjack planes, spread germs,etc.,etc.i will be deligent though.

Even if you don't hide them you can mess with them. Next time you drywall put gun shaped cutouts in the back side. Metal detectors will go nuts and those new cameras will see a wall full of guns! ;)

They'd disassemble your house though.

I apologize for my smarmy post (#59). I had not had my morning coffee yet.

There is a plan. There is a group. The plan is to make sure it never happens, and the group can be found at Activism right here at this very forum. Welcome, btw. may you have many happy posts.

I should probably rephrase my question at this point. Not to hide forever. To hide during a property search, and then bring back into your house once they are done searching your place. Like... temporary hiding places where you could still have access if you realllllly needed them.

They can have my gun when they pry it from my cold dead fingers... and the person doing the prying should watch out for booby traps!

Guns? I don't have any guns...another tragic boating accident. :)

That said, I generally keep one "hidden" on my person. :) As long as Texas continues to honor the Second Amendment, as long as my CHL is valid, and as long as I'm able to stand upright, this will continue...

Well, yes, but that's not necessarily any reason not to do it...

Of course, you could also get metal letters to say "MOLON LABE" or various non-high-road things as well.

There would be, to paraphrase General Yamamoto, "a rifle behind every tree," and hence invasion would be suicide.
(Actual quote: "You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass."
- Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, Japanese Navy)

It think this would apply very well.
When in doubt vote from the rooftops.
