Tucson. Full of High Tech, Uof A Babes, and great shooting. If you want really High Tech go to Sierra Vista, 48 minutes from Tucson. Ft. Huachuca is there and employs really high speed folks.
5 degree rule. Tucson temperature is 5 degrees lower than Phx on any given day, Sierra Vista is 5 degrees lower than Tucson on any given day.

+1 for Phoenix

Not a fan of Tucson ( I grew up in Ajo) used to be ghetto trashville (IMHO). I really enjoy Phoenix, again parts of town are pretty dumpy. A word to the out of stater.

Outside of VT and AK we have the best gun laws in the country and IMHO the best Sherriff and County Prosecutor here in Maricopa Ctny.

Also be carefure outside of Phoenix in places like Queen Creek, and all of Pinal County as well as south of Tucson like Benson and St. David because they've had issues with massive sinkholes opening up due to water shortages.

Speaking of water issues many of the "new" towns are going to be facing drought issues similar to PRK in the next decade due to poor county, city and development planning. The desert wasn't made for pansies or water guzzlers!

Last thought, CMON DOWN! We've got a great state, with Mountains, Elk & Deer (VENISON YUM), Rocky Point (if your into the Mexican beach thing) and we could always use another gun rights minded voter to balance out the California evacuees who brought their misery withem... We're still winning the votes but it never hurts to invite new blood!

So, Jester

Is it just you?

You bringin' a family?

Holler when you know more, and we'll help you connect with the services you need out here.

I'll throw in another beer.

Hey, gunsmith, you in?

Tucson is a great town if you are independantly wealthy. Otherwise it is difficult to make a good living here. Phoenix is far better in that regard but it is a big city with the usual big city problems.

The heat is an issue to consider but one can adjust.

Northern AZ is beautiful.

I've never lived in any of your other choices.

Im staying with my company so if all goes well im coming out with a job. I am single and carry no baggage, I dont even have a dog. I have been talking to the Reno office all I have to do now is have my boss sign off on the transfer. She says I need to hire/train a replacement first so this could be slightly rough but its looking good.

I really wanted to look into flagstaff as a choice but it wasnt available to me. I have put in transfer request to Reno and if that falls through Tucson will be choice B.

I loathe, hate, despise, etc. etc, ALL big cities, but if I was FORCED to live in one, it would be Salt Lake City, Utah.

IMHO, it's the "least undesireable" of big cities.:(

I grew up in Reno and was just back there visiting my folks and I gotta tell you Reno is imploding. Indian gaming is just killing the area because Reno never reinvented itself as anything other than a gaming town. Sure the surrounding area is nice, but I really wonder what will happen to the city. Also there are a TON of refugees from California coming in and driving up housing prices.

I now live in the Denver Colorado area and love it. Housing is very expensive, but the gun culture (and outdoor, hunting, fishing, etc) here is really nice.

I vote for Denver hands down.

Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, or Idaho

I would want my nearest neighbor at least 25 miles from me~!

Wyoming is a nice place to live. Denver isn't that far away or Salt Lake so if you need to go to a big city for something you can and there is practicaly no gun laws. Plus if you live in some of the smaller towns like where my grandparents live you can go shooting just outside the city.

consider me in for buying you a beer when you get to Reno, looks like were just waiting for "gunsmith."
Lived here for 4 years now. love it.
