Where would you NOT want to carry?

There are things you can do, door wedges, portable alarms, and yap yap dogs can be annoying, but they can make noise when you need it.

Yes. I have a portable wedge-alarm for anytime we stay at a hotel/motel/rented house/etc.

Hadn't heard of those before; good idea. I'm gonna order myself one of those for my condo. I love THR.

"Where would you NOT want to carry?" I don't want to carry anywhere. But, since self-defense is a necessity for a prudent person, I want to carry everywhere. Like Deltaboy said earlier in the thread--"I want the Laws changed so I can carry from the White House to the Outhouse with no restrictions..."

Why?
Do you folks have holsters that are so cheaply made that you fear that your pistol will fall out, or is there some other reason.
It's called gun paranoia brboyer. The same people who call us paranoid for carrying a gun almost all of the time are paranoid of their gun falling out or discharging all by itself.

If you properly secure your gun in a good holster with a retention or thumb strap that's securely fastened to your belt it won't just fall out or fall off. If carrying in the pocket you need to have a holster that's designed to hold the gun in place while it's inserted and stay in the pocket when the gun is pulled. The pocket will do the rest.

I carry a Kahr PM40 with a DAO trigger in the pocket. I have grandkids nieces and nephews around playing with them. They've never gone for my gun or intentionally or accidentally touched it to where it could go off or come out. I could ride on a roller coaster or whatever and the gun, cell phone, keys, wallet, leatherman, etc. aren't coming out.

Keep the gun properly secured. It's not rocket science.

On the other hand, I've heard of retention straps being a safety issue - when the gun is holstered, there's a potential for the strap to interfere with the trigger guard.

I don't "want" to ccw anywhere, just like I don't "want" to shoot someone, regardless of why. I am simply prepared if the necessity arises.

I carry in a top quality holster with a top quality belt, since you bring it up.

High Noon Down Under IWB rig with a High Noon Rock Steady gun belt. It's not going anywhere I don't want it to go. :)

Haven't read through the posts yet, which I will, but the original post mentioning hot-tub or shower immediately made me think of Tuco taking a bubble-bath with his (converted?)cap n ball gun hahahahaha :D

Schools, post offices, courthouses, city hall, federal buildings...

You know, the usual places that forbid firearms, even when you have a license.

Besides courts, all other places are legal-to-carry where I live, but Ive heard story of man who was cought with gun in Germany...

I would not want to carry in the immediate vicinity of the Secret Service. Probably trained better than most to SPOT your gun, and they get SO upset when they see one!

I could go on and on because there is actually quite a list... and I mean pages of it, seriously. Which is sad, but it is a crazy world out there with too many freaks who will take advantage of your inconvienience (mostly female victims tho not always)... not to mention big cats!
