The biggest part of getting the "right" .22 is fit and feel. Look at a number of models and brands. I have a Buck Mark Standard, Ruger MKIII Hunter, Ruger MKIII 22/45, Ruger MKII GC and an S&W 22A. They are all reliable, consistent shooters (accuracy probably has more to do with the shooter). All have strong points, but basically, there isn't much difference between them from a shooting standpoint.
