I currently own a P22 and a Buckmark. I've owned a Ruger Mark III in the past.
The P22 (in my case) has been reliable, but it's not accurate and has an awful trigger. Maybe the awful trigger is why it isn't accurate...?
The Rugers are nice, but... the standard doesn't have a grip angle that matches common defense guns, so it's not a good trainer. The 22/45 would be the better choice.
The Buckmark is the clear winner. It has a great trigger right out of the box. The accuracy is outstanding. The grip angle and controls match many standard defense pistols, so it's an excellent trainer. It costs a little more, but in this case you get what you pay for.
