Is there any preference between the 9mm CCI Blazer Brass and WWB?
Both are 155gr FMJ ammo loaded in brass case.
I see that they are about same price at Walmart.
I need to get about 1,200 rounds of 9mm ammo for a upcoming class.

I've tried both but only a few hundred rounds of each. I think WWB is a little more accurate shooting. However, I just went to my WalMart and saw that WWB is now more expensive- $19.96 a box of 100. Blazer Brass is $8.98 for 50. That cinches it for me. I'll take the cheaper one.

I think you mean 115 grain FMJ. I shoot both and find no perceptible difference in anything except the CCI Blazer Brass gets my gun a tiny bit more dirty but it's as easy to clean as the WWB so no overall difference.

Both are decent. I choose the cheapest of the two for target practice.

i say get whatever is the cheapest that is how i do it. they both have performed well for me, and i have no complaints with either of them.

Used to be WWB from WallyWorld but now it's CCI Blazer because it is 2 bucks cheaper per 100. Both shoot fine.

It is practically a coin toss between them as far as shooting performance, but when WBB (Wal-Mart Blazer Brass) is available it is often slightly cheaper than WWB (Winchester White Box).

I use the highly technical approach in determining which one.

Which ever one I get handed for Free, works for me. *grin*

pssst...this tech approach works for Fed 124 HP, Win STHP 115, 124 gr Gold Dots,...etc.

*yep*

Check the .40S&W stacks of Blazer Brass at your Walmart if it doesn't look like they carry it. Every Walmart I've been to has had it, but at one they didn't have a separate section for it on the shelf. It was mixed in with Blazer Brass in .40S&W. Bought all 5 boxes they had(someone got lazy I guess)

UMC always seemed ridiculously overpriced. Like $45 for 200 or something. I didn't see any advantage over WWB; heck, Walmart carries Remington JHPs for $20/100.

When it comes to range ammo, I find the cheapest brass FMJ rounds available. I don't like shooting aluminum or steel case ammo because I am saving all my brass now to reload someday.

For me, I stockpiled a large amount of UMC 115g 9mm when it was $6.99/50 last year. I have about 8000 rounds left and when that's gone I'm only reloading.

Quit reloading 9mm back a couple of years ago when it was less than $4 a box at Academy. It's currently $9+ for the same ammo there. So---------back to reloading! Cost is:
Powder .045
Primer .023
Bullet .052
------------
Total per rd .12 or $6.00 per box. Damn shame I'm paying 50% more to reload my own over what I could buy factory ammo for 2yrs ago! I'd be shooting a LOT less if I had to buy Factory!

Ive shot the Rem UMC, no probs.
The closest store to me where I bought my PM9 only carries Blazer Brass for target practice. So thats what Ive been shooting. I bought a case last time I was there, b/c I too have class coming up in Sept that 1K rd requirement. Even tho Ive already shot a couple hundred rounds out of it. Ill need more before the class.

I havent checked Wally World pricing, I may have too. Im paying $12.99 for Blazer 50rds.

DoubleTap Ammunition 9mm Luger +P 147 Grain Speer Gold Dot Jacketed Hollow Point, Cor-Bon Self-Defense Ammunition 9mm Luger +P 125 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point, Remington Golden Saber Ammunition 9mm Luger +P 124 Grain Brass Jacketed Hollow Point, and naturally Hornady TAP Personal Defense Ammunition 9mm Luger 147 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point Box. Depends on the gun I'm using...I use other brands, but these are the ones I generally use. I got 6 9mms and one gun may like a particular ammo better than another. I have found this to be true with may different firearms of the same caliber. SHIBBY!

Never had problems with WWB in any of my guns but the Blazer would cause problems in my BHP and it was a lot dirtier.
