hi all, i am very interested in the 9mm cz line and there are 3 models at my local gun store. cz rami, cz P01, and cz75b. magazine capacity doesnt really matter to me since i live in california. i am looking for reliability, concealability and most of all, the fun to shoot factor. should i stick to the big one or are the small ones just as fun to shoot? i cant find cz's for rent so i had to ask here. also, are cz parts like springs easily obtained? and lastly, do the rami and P01 have a firing block safety like the 75b? thanks a lot for helping a cz newbie guys. have a wonderful day.

Three totally different guns / sizes from full size to compact to really compact...purpose?...CZ's are good guns and any of these would do...

The P01 is the size I would like so it got my vote but...I prefer the look of the CZ 75 PCR the best...

I voted for the P-01 because it's a good compromise between the concealability of the RAMI and the shootability of the 75B.

The CZ-75D PCR. Similar to the P-01, but no light rail, therefore slimmer.

I'm a fan of C&L so my preference is the Compact. Even though they don't have one you might hold out until they can get one. If you like the DA/SA decocker setups then the PCR is good for the reasons listed above. If you HAVE to get one now the RAMI is the smallest of the lot and with the Compact's magazines you can get 4 fingers on it and shoot it about as well as the larger guns.

The extra thickness of the rail isn't really a huge deal for concealment but the thinner PCR will be more comfortable with an IWB holster.

They're all fun to shoot, IMHO. I've owned and carried all three. I find the P-01 works best for rapid follow-up shots, but I love the cocked-and-locked capability of the 75 and the RAMI.

Recoil, magazine, and extractor springs are easily avilable online from Wolff. Other parts will likely need to be ordered or requested from CZ-USA.

They do indeed.

I have a 75BD. Great shooter and very ergonomic, but sucks for CC work. Really heavy.

My vote is for the P-01 or PCR. Skip the RAMI, it's just a short brick of a gun.

Have a SP01 and 75BD POLICE . . . lusting after a PCR. Maybe the perfect CZ that one. . . which I suppose would make it the perfect 9mm period. Whatever route you take, the Meprolight nights are a worthwhile investment also.

P-01 sales, or should I say popularity, seem to be be leading the pack right now. There for a while..the RAMI (my fave) was gaining.

Should you demand or favor the decocker..the P-01 is an excellent CZ.

i had the same decision to make last year and after holding them and shooting them i went with the p-01, it's been great ever since.
if you live in so. cal. there is going to be a shooting fair the first weekend of june where you can try everything cz has. that's where i made my decision.

I am also looking at the P01. Getting closer to purchase time, and looking forward to it. :)

A 75B is concealable.

I'd go with either the 75B or P01.

It all depends on your preferences.

The CZ FORUM may help with your questions.

All great choices. I FINALLY got to see some CZ's for the first time this past wknd. Great guns from what I could tell. I checked out the P01 and the RAMI and really liked them. The P01 fit my hands a bit better, so I voted for it.

The PCR is the PO1 without the light rail which makes it thinner. For most people, the light rail is useless. If it is going to be a nightstand gun, then it's a good choice. For carry purposes, carrying a gun with a nite light is not practical. Also, difficult to find holsters for the setup. The PCR has a decocker, an alloy frame and you can get 12 rd. mags. It's an ideal gun and well worth the look. I have had one for close to 8 years without any failures of any kind and it is what I shoot the best.

The grip size issue is a non-issue -- as all of the 75B-based CZs are the same. (The P-01 and some of the newer versions have a more-curved trigger which shortens the pull a fraction of an inch. That trigger can be purchased and installed in all of the CZ except the CZ-100 and CZ-82/83. It even works in the 97B.)

The compact models have a slightly shorter slide and a slightly shorter grip, but the ergonomics and key grip/reach measurements are the same.

Everything is a compromise. The rami is good for conceal carry, but not very fun to shoot. The 75b is great fun to shoot and accuate too, but too big to carry. I can't speak for the p-01 since I have not shoot one yet. The rail on the P-01 is good to have if you are planning to add a light and a laser for home protection. I conceal carry something similar to the p-01 in size, it is not bad at all.

Another option you might consider is the CZ75 Semi-Compact. They mated the full-size frame from the CZ75B with the slide from the CZ75 Compact. It gives you the option of cocked and locked carry with the full-capacity (or limited capacity) full-size mags (since the compact mags seem to be a touch on the hard side to acquire).

If you hadn't mentioned concealability, I'd have said 75B. But, since you mentioned concealability, I'd say CZ 75D PCR b/c it has a slimmer profile than the P-01 with the same capacity & same lightweight alloy frame. You should see if your shop can order it for you. If not, then get the P-01. The RAMI is nice, too, but since you mention having fun at the range, a larger gun might suit you better. Really, if you don't plan on concealed carry, then I'd go full sized (75B).
