CZ ....the finest 9mm known to man

I'd just like to chime in here and add that Ford is better than Chevy.

Have a nice day.

Will a CZ75 hold it's own against a Glock, Browning High-Power, Sig, H&K etc? Probably but will it hold it's own against a Sig P210 or Walther P88? I am sorry to say no. The CZs are a lot of bang for the buck but they are not in a class with the best 9mm pistols. Regards, Richard :D

I think we have to excuse Alduro because he just learned of the CZ in the last few months. Either he's been asleep for almost 30 years or lived a sheltered life.
The CZ-75 was built as a service pistol meaning it is a holster pistol, not a hideout or target model. It wasn't built to the standards of the Sig 210, but as a mass produced pistol for a military application. It did lead the way and was coined the "Wondernine" that many pistols today make their mark as being. In fact most of the high cap pistols on the market today owe a lot of their existance to the acceptance of the CZ-75.
Is it the finest today? Most likely not, but "Granddad" can sit back and watch all his descendants run and play.

I dunno. To me . . . . The most worthwhile thing said in this whole thread was said by SirPorl :

I can say that I love my CZs each and every one. For me, personally, they just point well for me and are just about ergonomically perfect for my hands.

AMEN! That's the truth buddy! My sentiments exactly . . . . which is why no matter WHAT other firearms I drool over (SA TRP's, P7M8's, P220's, Sphinx, etc...) the next $1,300 I'm spending will be on CZ's!

I'm a Hopeless CZ Junkie!:neener:

I have a CZ 75B and I like the gun. The ergonomics are great and the gun shoots where I look. I shot a revolver for years so I am right at home with the trigger. I think it is a great gun for IDPA in stock service division and it also works just dandy for USPSA Production Division. They are awesome guns for the money.

Still, they can't compete with something like an STI Eagle in 9mm, or a custom 1911 along the lines of my Caspian Race Ready frame with an STI upper, Kart, barrel, etc.

Yeah, the CZ is a great gun, but best 9mm going?? That's a bit of a stretch.

Ive seen videos of Ankeny shooting the CZ at steel plates and if you do better with a 1911 style gun "God help the guy your shooting at!"

How about this for a Summary. CZ's are great guns. They are not going to give the Sig 210 a run for accuracy king! But they do and will continue to give most other high end handguns a run for their money in all regards.

Shoot well................

Actually I've been shooting for exactly 3 years. Before that I have to say that I was actually Anit-gun. Thats right folks....Second amendment ignorant. I was educated in a public school, during the Clinton Administration, went to college, during his second term...watched Waco with a lack of understanding....etc. Statements like what Majic has said above pretty much "confirm" the "good ol boy" mentality of shoot snobs that I have encountered when I decided maybe I was wrong and it was time to learn somthing new, after all, pointing out the ignorance of others is the best way to get them to see your point of view . This is not meant to be a flame. He actually has a point. I am too young to remember CZ....its been around longer than I have...I was turned on to CZ by 2 things. First, those who shoot the CZ and are enthusiastic have been nothing if not wonderfully open minded, and even put up with some wide eyed kid once in a while. Glock and Sig owners that I have spoken with have not been nearly so patient as to explain the finer points of the weapon. Secondly, the gun was affordable. I would go to the range and see stainless steel STIs with guys talking about how they dropped 2 grand etc...Yet a rookie such as myself was keeping pace with a 400 CZ. I am excited to learn of such a fantastic weapon however and don't readily hide my enthusiasm. There may be a new shooter out there who is thinking of getting somthing he can afford...I recommend the CZ Since shooting I have owned in the last 3 years.

Glock 22
Ruger P94 DAO
Springfield XD 9
Taurus 945
Taurus PT111
Taurus 92AF
Smith & Wesson 66
Taurus 85
Taurus 608
Taurus 605
Sig 239 9mm
Sig 220 .45
Sig Pro 2340 = 2 of them
CZ 75B in BOTH 9mm and .40
CZ P01
CZ PCR
Witness Compact .40
Witness full size 45

I also have trained with and carry a Sig 226 or 229 dependant upon mission.

I have shot countless guns...the CZ is the ONLY gun that has consistantly shot AND felt good. The Sigs I have shot have never had a problem and are accurate, even as accurate as a CZ in many respects, however the CZ just felt right. As it happens I am getting rid of all my CZs due to restrictions in carry on duty and therefore off duty. Its not somthing I like to do...:uhoh:

Either way....good thread, I was wondering if others felt as I do about this great gun.
