You're in Cali, what are the chances that you're going to get a permit? I'd say a CZ75B is the way to go. It's durable, accurate, reliable and you can get them some really good deals if you're patient. With the proper gear a CZ75B can be concealed very well.

Anyone here shoot a Cz-100? - slicknickns

I have one in .40. It's accurate, recoil is not an issue as it's ported but it has a trigger that only a CZ fan will forgive.

I have no interest in ever carrying a gun like that for CCW. If i ever did CCW, it'd most likely be a .38 snub or walther ppk/makarov.

Thanks for the input Mbott. The Cz100 in .40 would be what i would plan on getting (i have yet to fire the .40 caliber and want to acquaint myself with the bullet). I'm 19 and don't plan on buying a handgun until i'm on my own and living alone (i live with my parents --- and trust me with my old man's collection; i have no fear of criminals in my house.) That will be far off as i need to finish my units at junior college and then graduate from a Cal State --- like the family, i want to be an RKBA attorney.

The standard 10 rounds for it is perfectly legal. I first read of the gun in Ian V. Hogg's Military Small Arms of the 20th Century and have had an interest in it ever since.

What's with the trigger? Long pull? My only familiarity with the CZ's is the 9x19 Tanfoglio I fired a few years ago (that Tanfoglio was a sweet gun by the way)

I voted for the P01. even though I carry a Rami for ccw. Having said that I do find I am grabbing my Keltec P32 when I am on the way out, unless I am going out with my family, then I want something with a little more punch. I do think that the P01 or one of the other same size CZ's is a perfect range/carry piece.

On a Glock, the slide must first be racked to partially compress the striker (or firing pin) spring and set the trigger before the pistol can be fired. Same with the S&W M&P line. This means that when you are pulling the trigger, you are not compressing the striker fully as it's partially done.

With the CZ 100, that's not what's happening. When you pull the trigger you are compressing the striker spring during the entire trigger pull. This makes for a long pull. However, the advantage the CZ 100 has over both the Glock and the M&P is that it has a second strike capability without having to partially rack the slide.

+1 for PCR if you plan on CCW. I have one and love it. Not as concealable as my snub, but hell its got 14+1 9mm in it. If it is more of a home defense gun then maybe the P01. The classic 75 is a great shooter though, I don't think anyone question that.

Ah, i see exactly what you mean. It took me several times of reading your reply to understand. The Glock's firing pin isn't actually compressed until the trigger is all the way back. But does that mean it's possible to dry fire the CZ-100?

With the CZ, it's kinda like when playing with old cap guns, the hammer would go back in connection with the trigger.

Don't forget that the P-01 also comes in .40 as the P-06.

I have the RAMI-P and for concealed carry that is the thinnest and lightest of the CZ range.

NOT for CC but definitely for fun and the range and at less than 2 ounces heavier than the P-01 you might want to consider the new SP-01 Phantom in polymer.

If you want to carry it, get the CZ-75D PCR. It can double as a nightstand gun and CCW.

I have a CZ 100 in 9mm. It fits me better than my Glock 26 and the sights are great. Yes, the trigger pull is long, but no more so than a DA revolver. I got used to it quickly. A post on the CZ forum talks about lightening the trigger pull, but I don't like fiddling with fire control geometries. The gun shoots well and it handles any HPs easily. I had to take a fine rattail file and dress down the frame below the trigger. The sharp edge irritated my finger. The Glock is radiused better, but I did the same to the 26.
