My next handgun will definitely be one of these so question is which is the best high capacity 45? If I left one out let me know. Only polymer with 12+ capacity will be considered.

I would like real world experience with one or more of these pistols. Please don't vote for XYZ gun because you love the 9mm version.
 
Just picked up a 3rd gen 21SF, I'm diggin it. I believe you can find +2 mag extensions for it as well. Plus you can convert to 10mm with a barrel and mag swap. :)
 
XDm would be my pic for a lot of reasons.....

mainly most *bang* for buck.....:D .........pun intended!

Not a Glock fan, but not a bad choice in your lineup!

And I like the grip safety on XD pistols...and you can not beat the package as purchased with XD in my opinion anyway, and it is as good a firearm as any listed...again my opinion!

I would only consider the 3 excluding the Glock....(which is good pistol) for those who like them...I do not!
 
I prefer the XDM to any of the others. I have owned the XDM45 in both compact and full size and can't say enough good things about them. I traded my full sized to my brother for his XDM9 just because it's cheaper plinking but you couldn't get me to get rid of the XDM9 or XDM45C to save your life.

the triggers are not as squishy as M&Ps, not as gritty as glocks and...well not DA/SA like FNPs lol.

the grips aren't 2x4s like glocks and even though M&Ps and FNPs have good ergos, the XDM has better grip textures if you are shooting with sweaty palms.

I shoot XDMs more accurately with anything on the list. others results may vary.

XDMs do not have the reliability issues that the GEN4 glocks have been plagued with and eat any ammo you throw in them.

and a great lifetime warranty from a great company. for me the XDM has no equal and I've given a lot of pistols a lot of chances...they all fall short.
 
I have a Glock 3rd gen 21SF and love it. I have shot roughly 2,000 rounds of steel, aluminum, and brass cased ammo without one single problem. The gun is also extremely accurate and I can consistently have 4"inch and under groupings at 25yards standing.

Hands down the FN is the way to go. My 45 is a fnp-45. Best polymer pistol I've owned (ive had over 14) or even shot. Well i actually like the FN Five-seveN I just picked up the best but for a 45 I'd go FN for the win.

I'd be hard pressed between the FN and the M&P. M&P has better ergonomics, but the FN is traditional double action (my preference) and holds 15+1.
 
Ditto, Glock 21SF. Glocks are not pretty in the classic sense, but they work.

When I went .45 shopping I tried both XD and M&P, and for me there wasn't a nickel's difference between them and nothing about either that would make me prefer it over the Glock.

In the end I bought a steel frame gun, but if I had decided to go polymer I would have gone Glock.
 
While my HK (non compact) isn't making your list it is a wonderful gun. I am looking for one to keep in the car and it looks like the glock 21 (full size) with an extended mag like the 27 rounder.

You might help yourself by letting others know what function this gun will have? h/d, cc, car, or what not.

Let us know what you decide on!

Algorithmically, the Glock carries the most rounds (for a given size in most cases) so that should be the winner. But, given that they are all excellent, I chose the FNH because life is too short to own an ugly gun :)

I suspect the true answer is to hold each of the four in your hand and preferably shoot each of them and determine which one 'speaks to you' best.

Love my Glock 21SF and M&P 45c, but the 21SF is the best hi-cap .45acp IMHO.

Really wanted to love the FNP-45 but the grip just plain sucks in my hands, XD/XDm fit fine just not calling my name.

M&P: 10+1*
G21: 13+1
XD: 14+1
FNP/FNX: 15+1

M&P has a 14 round option, but it does hang down a bit.

Sarsilmaz K2. 14+1 in .45, all reports indicate they are top notch pistols. I'm wanting it in 10mm (17+1 capacity :eek:)
 
Glock 21. I have one and can shoot it way better than any other .45 gun.
1. Very few parts
2. Very simple
3. No external "levers, safetys and takes down thingys" to get in the way
4. Great rust resisntance
5. RELIABLE
6. Great trigger reset
7. Easy to do a complete take down of every part and reassemble
8. After-market parts are plentifull
9. Can be easily converted to 10mm
10. Check out all the Glock 21 torture tests done , they are fun to watch and really come out good.
 
The M&P only has a 10+1 capacity while the others have more. The M&P is great, but in my opinion, not for .45. The others have better capacity. The FN has the highest (15 rounds), but I personally don't like the feel of FNs.

Ultimately, though, it is which one you like best in your hand.

really? lets go to the drawing boards.heres a look at 45ACP models
glock 21(full size) 13+1, glock 30 10+1, glock 36 6+1
XDM 4.5 13+1 XDM3.8C 9+1 with 10+1 optional and XD/s 6+1

lets look at other calibers say...9mm:
glock 17 17+1 glock 26 10+1
XDM4.5 19+1 XDM3.8C 13+1

algorithmically speaking, I would say that Springfield and HSP have done a pretty good job at making sure that glock does not have the upper hand when it comes to ammo capacity.
 
I recently picked up a Heckler and Koch USP. I cannot think of a single .45ACP handgun I like more.

That is why the glock 21 extended mag will only sit inside the car, lol.....ugly indeed but does a great job and good pricing otherwise it would be another HK.
 
FNP-45 Mine is accurate as hell, holds a lot of ammo, handles recoil great, and is SA/DA capable. I can consistently hit a grapefruit sized target at 40 yards with it.
