Which NRA magazine for me?

I am finally joining and you get a choice of American Rifleman, American Hunter, America's First Freedom. Not really a Field and Stream guy so unless I am mistaken American Hunter is out. I am interested in the politics, the guns themselves, and shooting sports and activities. So Rifleman or Freedom?

I opted for Rifleman, even though I'm more a handgun guy - and I've been really happy with the magazine so far.

I get American Rifleman.
They also occasionally critique handguns.The latest issue,January,2008 has articles on the Ruger SR9 pistol,FHN pistols,SigSauer's C3 .45, and Sam Colt's original 1836 Paterson,NJ revolver.
So ,they cover the full firearms gamut.Its a good mag,greatly improved in the last 5 years.You'll enjoy it once you get past the obligatory political pitches.

I also went with Rifleman. I care more about the legislative stuff, but I also want to read about the newest stuff out there.

I went with AFF. Keeps me up on pending legislation, litigation, etc. and helps me rebut the Anti-gunners' flawed reasoning.

The "womens outlook" was the best choice--until the forward thinking NRA dropped it 1 year ago &%$#@*&. My wife gets the first freedom, I (now) get the hunter, FIL gets the riflleman.

I like my first freedom even if the editing could use some help... They often repeat the same story in two or three different pieces per mag.

I get AFF also. Who needs another version of Guns and Ammo, the politics are what's important to me.
