Hello everyone. I've been shooting for about six months, and have decided that it's about time I got my NRA membership. I'm opting for two magazines instead of the standard one, and want to know which two I should pick.

From this list, let me know which ones you would pick.
American Rifleman
American Hunter
America's First Freedom

My 2 cents: If your not a hunter, AR & FF will be a better fit; if you are, i would say AR & AH. Just for pure enjoyment the later two are best, unless you think getting jacked up on 2A issues is fun or you are very interested in the legal/political stuff. (You still get info on the major 2A issues but in less depth in the AR and AH .)

I’d definitely get America’s First Freedom!

Now that you’re into shooting, you damn well better keep up with what those working to deny you your 2nd Amendment right are up to!

AFA the others, maybe OK for a broad coverage of your particular interest (or to help you better determine what your interests are/will be), but I wonder if you wouldn’t be better off subscribing to a magazine that goes a bit more in depth AFA your particular interest.

Fer myself, I subscribe to Combat Handguns-I’m more into self-defense/practical shooting (although they are a bit heavy on the 1911 style articles).
I also enjoy Massad Ayoob’s actual court case articles and the “It Happened to Me” feature in each issue.

I was a political science major in college. ;)

I think I'll go with American Rifleman and America's First Freedom.
