Already have an SKS and Mini 30, and will add my first Garand this spring.

But although "antiques", my heart is with both of my LE #5 "Jungle Carbines":
lightweight, smooth and powerful. The LE #4 is my second milsurp favorite "battle rifle".

CooperThunder: After watching that brief scene of Mick Dundee shooting at the thugs' cars, it reminded my of the AIA Jungle Carbine (7.62x39) which I had handled in the Saginaw, MI 'Gander Mountain' store last March. These combined impressions instantly reminded me of the authentic LE #5 in .303 which a buyer handled at a gun store several months previously, and showed me.

The LE appeal somehow dawned on me like a lightning bolt at the end of the movie scene.
No kidding about this-not one bit. My poor wife :(:scrutiny:can confirm it. And it partly cured the disease known as 'Mosinitis'.
Strange coincidences, or a psychosis?

Not surprising that the AR15 and 10/22 are leading the pack.

Kind of interesting that more folks have an SKS than an AK. I guess cost is a factor there.

Wow, the FAL is surely under represented here though.

and ar and an ak, the ak i like alot, and the ar i run better and have more training on that any other rifle. they work for me and they are all i need. however i do want to get me a good bolt or semi auto precision rifle in the future.

I guess I could've looked at the definitions a little more loosely, and included my CETME under the 'HK91'.

BurningSaviour:
If .308 ammo were available at .25/round, my next gun would be one of the better CETME G-3s. Have read lots about problems with reloading .308 from them, due to fluted chambers, ejection forces etc.

It looks as if reloading is much easier for a Garand.
