Which one would you like to have back?

One really comes to mind - a Colt Diamondback .22 with a 2 1/2" barrel. Traded for an M70 Winchester in .30/06 . . . I still have the rifle (hunted Africa three times with it) so I don't feel too bad . . . but that revolver was nice, and today it's rarely seen in that caliber and barrel length.

Glock 30. Nothing at all wrong with the gun, I just got it in my head that I needed a shotgun and ended up selling it at a loss to get one, which I never fired.

Actually, I don't want that gun back so much as I want a do-over to trade it in on something different.

My Single stack European Sig 220 9mm from the 80s. Selling it was a very dumb move... :banghead:

Older S&W model 60 .38 Special. It shot to point of aim at 25 yards and like a moron I sold it instead of practicing enough with it to be competent.
S&W model 686 4". I shot about 4000 rounds through this one and was getting pretty good with it when I sold it. Stupid, stupid, stupid ! It was getting out of time but I bought it used and then shot it that much. A few $$$ to a smith and it would have been perfect again.
CZ-75BD. I sold it for traveling money. It was a mistake.
I also would have kept my Savage Scout and my VEPR K .223 had I had any idea what the hell I was doing when I was younger.

1975 Browning 9mm. Also the 686 plus, seven shot, with the three inch barrel.
There are many others, but those two come to mind first.

All the 38spl Colt Diamondbacks that I used to buy for cheap and trade for other stuff at shows. How many? 5 or 6 different diamondbacks at least. I even did that with a first year manufacture. Used to do that with N-frame Smiths's too. So sad...

Gosh Jim, did you have to ask? There have been many, so I will try to name a few:

70 Series Colt Gold Cups, Government Models, and Combat Commanders.
As well as several Smith 39-2's, 19's, 66's, even 27's and 28's and 29's.
Remington 700 BDL's (wood/blue) in .22-250, .243, .25-06, and 7m/m
mag. One old model Colt Agent, and Cobra; along with several Pythons.
One Ruger model 77-R in .338 Win mag. And last but not least, a S&W
Texas Ranger Comemerative Set with the model 19 and Bowie knife in
a velvet lined mahogany case. :( :D

Oops, I forgot the Smith's Airweights: 37's and 38's blue and nickel.

Colt New Service in 45LC with period customization and stag grips. Traded it for a S&W model 14 of all things.

Although these are not handguns, last March I traded my Beretta 686e Sporting Clays for a new Browning Citori XT, and now I wish there was a way that I could have kept both (which there wasn't).

a 1 month old nib beretta 92fs that I traded a best friend for his used 45 colt vaquero so he could have a semiauto, he went on and on about owning one but couldnt ever afford one after shooting mine for the very first time so I traded him even up on the spot just to put a grin on his goofy face. He had diabetis really bad and has since passed on.

then had to sell my beretta 92g elite to finance car repairs because the railroad tracks I usually go over had a missing board and I didnt see it till I hit the place where the board had been.

The Rem 600 .243 I sold to buy my first pistol.
The Savage 24C, 4" Python,5.5 Ruger MK II,S&W Mod 18, and T/C .22 Classic all lost in a house fire. I've only been able to replace the MK II with a used MK stainlees.

Bob

Bob. Those Model 600's were really nice little rifles in 243! Never cared for the blade front sight much though. House fire... man that su*ks.

Sold and wish I had back:

1938 Colt 1911A1 National Match
A really sweet DCM M1 Garand - just Springfield, but an RRAD mid-1960s rebuild. I'd bet that barrel hadn't been fired after refurb.

Stolen and wish I had back:

Pre-ban HK 91
Colt Challenger (my Dad's)
A 1983 vintage Deutonics .45 ACP

I ended up selling two pistols to get the funds for surgery for one of my dogs. The pistols were a Colt National Match customized by Austin Behlert and a Robar Colt Commander. I ended up buying the Commander back, but the National Match is gone.

In the end, I rather have a few more years with the dog than the pistol. But I do miss that pistol.

8 inch Colt Anaconda,
4 inch Smith 629
6 inch Smith 617
Ruger Mark II 10 inch bull barrel
Ruger 2245 5.5 inch bull barrel

Oh has anyone here ever bought back a gun they have sold then sold it again. I did with a sig 239 in 357 sig. Great gun sold it to a friend bought it back then sold it again. I also sold my Kimber and then later bought it back. I am an idiot sometimes.

Pat

Wish I didn't sell the Astra 44mag Terminator with the 2.75" bbl. That was a blast to take to the range, (literally). I sold it to finance another gun a long time ago that I can't remember now but absolutely needed then. Also S&W Mod 41 22lr and S&W Mod 13 3" 357 mag in mint condition. And can't forget the Randall 1911 45 auto.....

Too depressing I have to stop now.

S&W Model 27 nickel and Model 29 nickel.
The rifle I want back was a Carl Gustav 7mm Rem mag. It had a beautiful blue finish and the pretiest walnut stock I ever saw on a gun. Shot .5" groups at 100 yards. :(

Of all the guns I had to sell 10/11/12 years ago, the one I wish I could have back is a S&W 629 Classic, 8 3/4" barrell, with a nikon 1.5 pwr scope.

That .44 mag was truely a tack driver. It was one the guns that always went to the range with me. I bought it with the intent of using it as a hunting rig but never got it out in the field. I only ever used it for target shooting.

I entertain the idea of replacing it but I don't think I can justify the cost of what would end up still being a target gun. Just too many other items on the list. But you never know, if I saw a pre-lock for the right price......well, you never know.

I am glad to see that I am not the only one who suffers from the "sold that gun to buy another gun that I absolutely had to have" syndrome.
It has hit me a few times but I am doing much better at holding it off lately.

My Browning Hi Power Capitan. Stupidest thing I ever did was get rid of it.
I'm soon to be unemployed now, so it's highly unlikely I'll be affording another one for a long long time.

S&W mod.38 bodyguard airweight
Taurus PT99
I keep telling myself I'll never trade another gun in,but sometimes you get desperate and have no cash....
