HSMITH and I must have been brothers in another life.
I've won 3 Benelli's ( 1 SE and 2 Montferelos ) I never even opened the box,or looked at them, I'd shot plenty of rds through others and besides gun fit, never warmed up to them, main reason not reliable.
11-87's I won 2 of these same deal, never opened the box, my experience having shot and watching others shoot the gas system not as good as the 1100. Watched a glitched gun cost a buddy a shoot-off and the Championship. [ lost to me btw]
[ I used all these winnings, for used guns already chosen,or toward pallets of shot, cases of wads, ammo , or primers]
Winchester 1400, though the softest shooting shotgun ever made, the gas system, reliability just not there. Gift, she meant well...
Charter Arms "Bulldog" .44 spl. I like the cartridge, I like the concept, gun wouldn't hold up.
10/22 had a two or three, best of the lot was the Deluxe model. Still couldn't get the accuracy, reliabilty as I could from a Marlin 60. I didn't care about tricking one out, just did a good trigger tweak and action smooth. Personally I've shot many tricked out 10/22's and never got the warm fuzzies for them, though accurate and better in reliable. Should be, for what they had in them.
Smith 422 semi auto 22lr, accurate, reliable, grip sucked, and never got used to the barrel being in "the wrong place"...
Virginian Dragoon 44 mag...ok, no matter what, the thing was off kilter. I prefer the lead downrange, not on me. Fella really had to have it despite being aware of the problems. I got a model 10 and some other stuff on trade...he was estastic, so was I...good luck!
Almost forgot, I won ( had a choice of) a Peerless or again 11-87 with ammo...I had tried the Peerless, numerous times, other folks had them, don't recall any whom kept them... a "newer " version of a 3200 it ain't. So again I march my butt down and get me a new Colt 1911. Me happy.
