well if you look at the quality of the german guns its wayyyy better than the rest and espically a glock i think if most glock lovers :barf: :barf: were handed a sig they would take the glock and have that polymer injection molded to a holster for their sig :D :neener:

Walther P99 AS 9mm. Like the feel. Looks on all the guns listed are pegging about the same value on the Ugly Meter... might as well go with 007.

I picked the Glock...mainly because if it's gonna be my "one and only" gun - it makes sense to go with one that I know and trust. I just don't have any "hands-on" experience with any of the others.

Walther P99 all the way.

I'm willing to bet that half everyone who didn't vote P99 either:

a.) Never shot one (voted HK)

b.) Is a polymer hater (voted SIG)

c.) Doesn't like DA/SA triggers (voted Glock or XD on grip preference)

Maybe it's just that I have way more trigger time on my P99 than the short sessions I get with all the others, but it sure seems a fair bit more accurate than the others. I've noticed that seems to be the case amongst the entire Walther line. I have got to get a P88 some day.

It's at least as durable as every other pistol on the list.

It has the highest mag capacity/size ratio of any on the list.

It has the shortest trigger reset of any on the list.

It the only one on the list with a Walther barrel.

:p

The Walther P88 is indeed the finest Handgun i've ever handled. Fit, Finish and ergonomics are way nicer then any of the Semi Custom 1911's. When I held the P88 for the first time i could just feel the quality and craftsmenship.

HK P2k, based on familiarity. If I'm gonna carry it, it's going to have to be light too, and I've had great experiences with the brand in the past.

I had a SIG 220 which I traded for a Glock 19. It's very true about the SIG rusting easily, but if you keep after it with a light wipe of Remington synthetic lube, all is usually well. But again, you have to keep after it from time to time. It was also a little bigger than I liked for concealed carry and not as acurate as my Kimber Pro Carry. My Kimber Pro Carry is scarry accurate and it has plain black iron sights. I've never shot the Springfield XD pistol, but I wouldn't hesitate to purchase that gun for concealed carry. I really like the 1911 style beaver tail safety. Back to the Glock 19 it's an awesome gun. Perfect size with 15 round capacity and 9MM is as good as any other round if you do your part (accuracy). Oh and the best thing about shooting 9MM is the price.

Sig 228/229. Have both and carry the P229 .40 dak. Choice would have been tougher if you included a P239 .40/.357sig - got one of those too :D

Definately the Sig, I have had one longer then my XD and put it through the ringer. Still as reliable today as the day it came out of the box. The XD would be next.

I'd take the Sig P229 in any available caliber, although I am partial to 9x19 for a pistol of that size. I think the P228 handles slightly better, but I've had the "large and small pins" on a P228 and a P225 wander out on me (that's what they're called in the exploded diagram), so I'd rather get the milled slide from now on.

I've never had any rust problems with my Sigs.

I love the USP full-size but the compacts feel too different to me. The safety feels squishy to me. I have never been able to find a flat-bottomed hi-cap mag for one either, but I know they exist because my USPc .40 came with one. In all fairness I have not tried the P2000 or the LE trigger.

I chose the Sig P229 because that is what I carried for over 2 years. I have also owned a Glock 22, 1st gen Glock 22 2nd gen and a Glock 35. I have also owned Sig P226 and P228. Never owned or shot a HK P 2000 nor a Walther P99 nor the S&W M&P. In the Walther I have owned and carried a P38 1943 issue and a PPks in .380 and .22. The Springfield Armory XD Service I have handled but not owned. Have a nice day and a wonderful week.

I picked the HK based on a freinds recommendation. Never shot any of the choices listed. 1991A1, 1911A1, BHP, and some clones and a Ruger GP100 are the guns I've shot or owned b4.

I love my Glock 19. But I voted SIG because if I could afford a gun in that price range I'd go with a SIG 229.
